Ricochet vs Tyler Breeze - North American Championship

Ricochet successfully defended his North American Championship on NXT

The NXT North American Champion issued an open challenge this week on NXT, one that was shockingly answered by Tyler Breeze. The current SmackDown Live Superstar was a popular addition to the NXT locker room before he was promoted to the main roster, but since Fandango's injury back in summer, Breeze has been surplus to requirements on the main roster, so it appears that he decided to challenge the current North American Champion, much to the delight of the WWE Universe.

The crowd chanted "Welcome Back" as Breeze locked up with Ricochet and the two men showed a huge amount of respect for one another, but Breeze still went on to pose in the corner.

The two guys exchanged spots with such fluidity as both guys showed their high flying ability before Ricochet hit a hard clothesline.

Ricochet almost picked up the win off a standing shooting star press, but Breeze rolled his shoulder up at two. Breeze then avoided a Phoenix Splash and exchanged strikes with The One And Only before both men whipped each other out with a double crossbody.

The Super Model kick followed by the reverse Frankesteiner had the crowd believing that Breeze could have had the match won, but once again it was just a near fall.

Ricochet managed to retain his Championship when he delivered a Fireman's carry slam to Breeze after what was an impressive encounter between the two men.
