Bronson Reed and MSK vs Legado Del Fantasma: Winner Take All for the NXT North American and Tag Team Championships
Legado Del Fantasma has run roughshod over NXT for quite some time. A little more than a year to the day of the group's formation, Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde, and Raul Mendoza aim to fulfill their destiny in a six-man tag team match.
Their opposition? The Colossal Bronson Reed and the must-see kids themselves, Wes Lee and Nash Carter of MSK. Carter and Lee have already beaten Legado Del Fantasma several times this year, though Mendoza and Wilde were always just seconds away from claiming gold for themselves. Their first match came during the Dusty Cup, where MSK knocked LDF out of the tournament in the semi-finals.
Since then, they've clashed a few more times, with MSK managing to come out on top, even besting Legado Del Fantasma and Grizzled Young Veterans at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver to crown themselves the new NXT Tag Team Champions.
Santos Escobar recently lost the NXT Cruiserweight Championship to Kuhida, but quickly moved on, realizing that the next step for him was the newly crowned NXT North American Champion Bronson Reed. Reed has repeatedly come to the aid of MSK regarding Legado Del Fantasma, and vice versa, angering Escobar to no end.
That led to the penultimate challenge issued this past week. A six-man tag team match. Winning teams takes it all. If MSK and Reed win, they keep their titles. If Legado wins, Santos Escobar will take the North American Title while Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde will walk away as the new NXT Tag Team Champions.
This may, possibly, be the match of the night. There's a lot of hatred between MSK and Legado Del Fantasma, and Reed and Escobar have done a great job in making this short-lived feud mean something. Will Reed's Colossal reign come to an end?
