The record for the longest ever title reign in the modern era belongs to Pete Dunne. He has been the NXT UK Champion for 684+ days and is now going to face his biggest hurdle till date (literally) in the form of Walter.

NXT TakeOver is the ideal platform for Dunne to drop the title and move to either NXT or the main roster permanently. Walter is a formidable athlete for his size, who is well capable of carrying the NXT UK brand on his shoulder.

#1 Vacant NXT Championship

It was supposed to be the culmination of WWE's longest storytelling in recent memory. From DIY tag team to bitter enemies, then again starting to tag together just to aggravate past animosity and rekindle their rivalry, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa were set to settle things once and for all. But an unfortunate injury to the champion Ciampa halted the plans.

Keeping it aside, Adam Cole won a fatal five-way match to earn a shot at the title and is set to face Johnny Gargano for the vacant NXT championship in a 2 out of 3 falls match. NXT TakeOver should be Gargano's moment of coronation so there are very fewer chances of last minute changes.
