NXT UK Thirty-minute Ironman Match: A-Kid vs Jordan Devlin
Jordan Devlin worked over the arm of A-Kid early, but after a few minutes A-Kid managed to escape his grip. A dropkick sent Devlin to the floor, with A-Kid showing he wasn't going to be a push over.
Devlin and A-Kid traded pinfall attempts before A-Kid synched in an armbar. Devlin's leg barely got to the ropes, and he quickly rolled to the floor to break A-Kid's momentum. The Irish Ace of NXT UK finally took over after a knee to the gut and a smashing forearm to the face.
Devlin caught A-Kid going for a springboard maneuver. With A-Kid's leg hung up in the ropes, Devlin hit a series of knee breakers before getting his opponent in a single leg Boston Crab.
Jordan Devlin went up 1-0 against A-Kid with 20 minutes left.
A-Kid was planted with a big slam for a two-count. The Spanish Sensation of NXT UK managed to lock in a rear naked choke, though, and almost got a submission fall of his own. Devlin got to the ropes again, and pulled A-Kid's legs into the ring post. A figure-4 around the steel left A-Kid screaming.
Devlin went for another Boston Crab, with A-Kid barely getting to the ropes. A-Kid caught Devlin with a series of German suplexes. Devlin responded with a suplex over the ropes, but he seemed to take the worst of the fall on the apron.
Back in the ring, A-Kid went for another submission but he couldn't keep Devlin away from the ropes. A-Kid finally got a sleeper in the middle of the ring. However, before Devlin tapped out, A-Kid released it. He rocked Devlin with a running kick for a two-count.
Devlin hammered A-Kid with a series of punches, but A-Kid bounced off the ropes for a superman punch. An armbar was locked in, and Devlin had no choice but to tap.
A-Kid tied it up with Jordan Devlin at 1-1 with 11:41 left.
Devlin ran around the floor, trying to break up A-Kid's momentum. The only NXT UK Cruiserweight Champion was in a lot of trouble, and when he grabbed a chair A-Kid rocked him with a rolling heel kick.
Back in the ring, a hurricanrana earned A-Kid a near fall. A-Kid caught Devlin with another kick, again nearly getting a pinfall. Devlin responded with a running headbutt, nearly knocking both men out and almost giving Devlin a shocking pinfall.
At six minutes left, and things all tied up, both of these NXT UK stars were throwing their best shots looking to finally get ahead. A-Kid took Devlin to the apron, but Devlin tripped him up by pulling the apron off the ring. A Devlin Side on the floor spiked A-Kid, but damaged both men.
A-Kid barely got in before the ten-count. Devlin went for another Devlin Side, but A-Kid countered with a Canadian Destroyer. A superkick laid out Devlin, but wasn't enough for a pinfall.
Devlin was caught in the armbar, but was able to escape this time. A-Kid went for the Rings of Saturn, using his legs to increase the pressure. Devlin had no choice but to submit.
A-Kid went up 2-1 with a little over a minute left.
Both competitors threw knock-out blow after knock-out blow just trying to finish up the match. Devlin rocked A-Kid with a series of chops and slaps. However, Devlin was unable to get another pinfall before the time ran out.
Results: A-Kid defeated Jordan Devlin on NXT UK.
Grade: A+
The former NXT UK Heritage Cup Champion got some much needed revenge and a major win in the main event.
