ODB on IMPACT Wrestling's "ODB Appreciation" in New York, her food truck & more (Exclusive)

IMPACT Wrestling has been in the news a lot lately, as it was announced a few weeks back that its flagship weekly two-hour program IMPACT! is now airing on AXS TV. Meanwhile, IMPACT Wrestling has a big two-night stand coming up in New York City later this week at the Melrose Ballroom on November 7th and 8th.

One of the stars who helped build IMPACT in its "TNA era" was ODB. A four-time TNA Women's Knockout Champion and a TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champion, ODB had multiple runs with TNA/Impact, first appearing within the 2007 edition of Bound For Glory.

In recent years, ODB found a new audience beyond wrestling her Meat & Greet Food Truck. Unfortunately ODB's Meat & Greet Truck made headlines in September when news broke that the down had a fire which put it out of commission.

Fortunately, the wrestling industry listened and has come together to help ODB with the rebuilding of her Meat & Greet Food Truck. One of the great examples of this is Impact Wrestling's announcement that its November 7th and 8th live events in New York would carry the theme of "ODB Appreciation."

On her food truck recovery efforts

ODB: Well I haven’t made a commitment yet, it’s still up in the air, but it’s definitely gonna be ready for next spring.

On her history with New York

ODB: I haven’t been there in a long, long time. But actually, New York City is actually the first time I stepped foot in a wrestling ring. I was on the very first ever Tough Enough in 2000, I made it to the top 25 and that’s basically when my wrestling career started… I haven’t been in a long, long time so I’m excited. What a great thing that Impact is doing for me. I still can’t believe it’s happening. It’s pretty damn cool.

On being a person who most of the wrestling companies want to work with in some capacity

ODB: When something bad happens, like with my truck business, but something great is coming out of it. It gets me out there more, the wrestling world has been amazing… It definitely makes me feel a lot better. I was like, “Holy s**t, I didn’t know I was this loved in the wrestling world.”
