Since making an appearance on Monday Night RAW last week, Odyssey Jones has been grabbing the attention of the WWE Universe. While Jones attacked Karrion Kross and saved The New Day last week, he won his match against Vincent Miney last night.
While Jones has a long way to go in his career on the main roster, he already has one up over WWE legend John Cena. The 30-year-old star has a better record than The Franchise Player in deadlifts. In a YouTube video uploaded by the Stamford-based company in 2019, Odyssey Jones was seen deadlifting 800 pounds at the WWE PC Combine.

This 800-pound deadlift by Jones, who went by his real name Omari Palmer back then, was a record-breaking deadlift. With this deadlift, Jones managed to break Otis' record. The former Mr. Money in the Bank deadlifted 775 pounds previously.
John Cena, on the other hand, deadlifted 638 pounds in February 2012. While there is a considerable difference in size and strength between Jones and Cena, the former's achievement is indeed significant.
WWE veteran suggests Odyssey Jones might be too big to draw money
When Odyssey Jones appeared on RAW last week to help The New Day, he left a lasting impression on the audience by beating Karrion Kross and lifting Rezar and Akam together.
While Jones' strength and size were heavily appreciated by fans, wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell claimed on his Story Time with Dutch Mantell podcast that the 30-year-old was too big to draw any money.
"He's a big guy, a really big guy. But he's almost too big, to tell you the truth, to draw any money with, and I hate to see these big guys come in; they'll push them for a while [and then stop], and I don't know what kind of personality he has. If he has a personality, maybe they'll do something with him. And I've said this forever: if they can't talk and they don't have a personality, he's just another big guy," he said. [1:37:54-1:38:25]
It will be interesting to see how WWE books Odyssey Jones in the coming weeks.
