Opinion: Every female superstar in Women's MITB Ladder Match and her possible future run as 'Ms. Money in the Bank'

Money in the Bank, one of the most talked about PPVs of WWE, is on the horizon and with it, the second ‘Ms. Money in the Bank’ ladder match. After a disappointing outcome in the last year’s match with Ellsworth dropping the briefcase to Carmella which resulted in a rematch, WWE fans are expecting more for this year’s match.

Instead of discussing usual predictions of the match and picking out a winner, let’s talk about the future that holds for each female Superstar if she manages to become ‘Ms. Money in the Bank’.

RAW:

As Carmella won last year’s SD live exclusive MITB Ladder match, there’s a high chance that WWE chooses a RAW superstar to be ‘Ms. Money in the Bank 2018’. But whatever the outcome may be, we can be pretty sure that these four superstars representing the… overused cliché by Michael Cole alert…'longest running weekly episodic show' right now would give their very best performances.

1. Sasha Banks

Is it going to be 'The Boss time' at MITB?

Michael Cole never fails to remind us that ‘It’s Boss time’. Obviously, it won’t always turn out to be true. But this time, when he says the same thing at MITB pay-per-view, he might have a point.

Sasha Banks, according to me, is most likely to become ‘Ms. Money in the Bank’. With her ability to swap from babyface to heel gimmick effortlessly, she could be a perfect choice.

If Sasha wins, her approach towards winning the title could differ depending on the gimmick (babyface or heel) of the champion. The Boss has already won the RAW women’s title four times. So, if and when she becomes ‘Ms. Money in the Bank’, it’s probable that WWE would take its time to let her cash-in.

If she loses, she would go back to her same storyline with Bayley which isn’t going anywhere as of now. There’s also a possibility Bayley could be the one that’d cost Banks her match at MITB thus fully turning Bayley heel and setting off a hopefully rejuvenated fued with her fellow horsewomen.

2. Alexa Bliss

The self-proclaimed Goddess would surely like to get her hand raised as the winner at the end of MITB Ladder match

Alexa Bliss has every quality that ‘Ms. Money in the bank’ needs. She’s cunning, manipulative, smart, and has a great timing. If WWE doesn’t mind putting her back in the title picture after her 223 days title reign till Wrestlemania, then the self-proclaimed Goddess could very well be the successor of Carmella in winning MITB Ladder match.

Bliss cuts the best heel promos. If she wins, we will definitely witness a heel boasting about her MITB win at every chance she gets. As far as cashing in her contract goes, expect her at a time when the champion is most vulnerable.

Whether the former RAW and SD women’s champion wins or loses the MITB ladder match, we could see her in a future feud with one of the babyfaces of RAW, possibly Ember Moon.

3. Ember Moon

Is it too early for Ember Moon? Maybe. Maybe not.

Ember Moon is definitely least likely to win the match at MITB. Despite her top-class wrestling skills, it could be too early for her.

Assuming that she will win, we can expect her cash-in sooner than later. This would make sense as she’s a full-on babyface. Whatever the outcome may be, we can expect her fued with a heel like Bliss in the future who could get her over even more.

4. Natalya:

We could definitely see one of those Sharpshooters if Nattie makes it to MITB

If someone asked me about my prediction for MITB ladder match a week ago, then I’d have definitely said Natalya. It totally made sense seeing her storyline development with Ronda Rousey.

But now that WWE is playing injury angle with her, chances are high that we won’t witness the ‘Queen of hearts’ in the ladder match. Her replacements could be either Bayley or a member of Riott Squad.

However, if Natalya makes it to the match, she could definitely be this year’s ‘Ms. Money in the Bank’. Given the attention and time allotted to her on TV recently, WWE seems to have something big planned for Natalya and it most probably has everything to do with Rowdy Ronda Rousey.

SmackDown:

Due to the fact that a SD Live superstar won the MITB ladder match last year, one of these superstars winning the briefcase seems less likely but not exactly an impossibility. Like RAW, SD Live also has 3 babyfaces and only one heel.

1. Charlotte

'The Queen' definitely has her eyes on the big prize

Charlotte is the most over female superstar in WWE right now. With her shocking and, at the same time, historic win over Asuka at Wrestlemania, she’s definitely destined to be remembered as one of the greats in WWE.

The probability of ‘The Queen’ grabbing the briefcase and becoming 2nd Ms. Money in the Bank is as slim as Alexa Bliss’ chance to do the same. This is because she got dethroned very recently on SD Live show after Wrestlemania.

If the 2nd generation Flair manages to become Ms. MITB, chances are she will go for her cash-in against Carmella sooner than later, in order to get her revenge. The future feuds could be waiting for Charlotte in form of babyface Becky Lynch and heel tag teams ‘The IIconics’ or even Absolution despite the outcome at MITB.

2. Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch is always ready for a fight

Becky Lynch has high chances of winning the contract from SD Live. The ever fan-favorite could have a great run as Ms. MITB and as a 2nd time SD women’s champion.

If WWE management decides to give her the push she deserves, the Irish Lass Kicker could be the one to dethrone the heel champion, Carmella, if she wins the MITB ladder match. However, the straight fire girl’s future looks bleak, if she loses, unless she turns heel.

3. Naomi

We'll definitely feel the glow of Naomi at MITB Ladder match

Naomi, one can say, is fighting hard to stay relevant in SD women’s division after her short title reign last year. Except for her win in Women’s Battle Royale, she hasn’t been utilized properly or put over by WWE enough. Becoming ‘Ms. Money in the Bank’ could get her that most needed push.

If Naomi wins, she could instantly fulfill her goal of becoming 3r time SD women’s champion. Regardless of the outcome of the match, WWE universe can bet that they would feel her glow in MITB ladder match with her amazing in-ring skills. Her future feud could be with heel tag team ‘The IIconics’.

4. Lana

Is it an inconsequential qualifier win or is there more?

Lana qualifying for MITB ladder match came as a surprise for many fans. Besides it being her first single’s win, the last time she wrestled was at Wrestlemania’s Women’s Battle Royale.

The Ravishing One is least likely to grab the briefcase. However, if she wins, a failed cash-in will definitely be on the cards. The cash-in would surely happen when there’s a face champion unlike Carmella right now.

Lana seems to be involved in Rusev and Aiden English Storyline right now. So, either she wins or loses at MITB ladder match, she could be responsible for ousting Aiden from their group and with him the ‘Rusev Day’ gimmick in the near future.
