Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman's relationship doesn't seem to be the same since The Wiseman returned to WWE TV with CM Punk on SmackDown. Even though he acknowledges the OTC and his loyalty doesn't seem to have wavered, the reality of the situation might be quite different.
The WWE Hall of Famer's loyalty can be put to the test at Royal Rumble 2025. Triple H can have both Roman Reigns and CM Punk enter the men's match. As per Bully Ray, the OTC and The Voice of the Voiceless can be the last two men standing. Finally, Paul Heyman could turn on the former Undisputed WWE Champion and help The Second City Saint secure the victory.
Unlike the last time Heyman and Reigns came up with a plan to trick Brock Lesnar, this time The Wiseman could truly part ways with the OTC. Considering the Hall of Famer owes CM Punk a favor, this could be it! He can ask Heyman to get rid of Roman Reigns and work alongside him.
While this angle is speculative, Paul Heyman betraying Roman Reigns would keep The Bloodline Saga interesting since the duo's bond was one of the key elements of the storyline. With that falling apart, it opens the possibility of another Wiseman joining the OTC, maybe even Rikishi!
WWE veteran criticized Roman Reigns and CM Punk segment
The OTC and The Second City Saint had an intense discussion ahead of Survivor Series: WarGames. They sat down to discuss the arrangement for WarGames with Paul Heyman in attendance. It was a cinematic production and the second of its kind involving Roman Reigns since his return at SummerSlam 2024. The first was with Cody Rhodes before they teamed up for Bad Blood against The Bloodline.
It so happens that the segment did not sit well with Jim Cornette. He claimed that had AEW done the same segment, it would have received massive criticism due to the excessive amount of drama.
"That's why they aint' Hollywood. If this segment had been on AEW, we would be roasting it because of the overly dramatic nature, the ominious music, and the sitdown in the dark room. It was a movie scene."
Whether or not it was overly dramatic, fans did respond well to Punk and Reigns' segment and their coming together for the premium live event. WarGames may not be the last of Punk's association with the OTC!
