What’s the story?
WWE returns to Belfast, Northern Ireland this May, and a recent Tweet from the Belfast SSE Arena may have just given us the result of the Triple Threat match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 34.
In case you didn’t know…
WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz will be defending his Championship in a Triple Threat match at WrestleMania with Seth Rollins and Finn Bálor.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
It was originally planned on being a Fatal 5-Way match, to also involve Braun Strowman and Elias, but those plans have changed.
The heart of the matter
WWE will be returning to Belfast, Northern Ireland on May 10 for a show at the Belfast SSE Arena.
The official Twitter account for the venue sent out a Tweet earlier today advertising ticket sales, advertising that Bálor will be challenging, not The Miz, but Rollins for the WWE Intercontinental Championship on the show. Below is the Tweet.
What’s next?
Bálor and Rollins will challenge The Miz for the WWE Intercontinental Championship in a Triple Threat match on April 8, at WrestleMania in New Orleans.
WWE will tour the UK, Ireland and all over Europe in May, where the Architect is now being advertised as the WWE Intercontinental Champion.
As many live event matches are also stemming from active feuds on WWE TV, this could also mean that should the apparently leaked spoiler be true, then we may also see Rollins and Bálor feud for the Intercontinental Championship.
Author’s take
Now it is highly possible that this is just a typo, however, it wouldn't be the first time that a venue has given away spoilers for a WWE show. In fact, this happens quite a lot.
The most famous example would probably be when Batista returned to WWE, as the arena he was returning to was advertising his appearance before WWE even confirmed themselves that he was returning.
