As a business, WWE has expanded over the past decade, and even though they've recorded astonishing profits under Nick Khan, Vince Russo believes the top executive will depart the company by 2024.
Nick Khan joined WWE in August 2020, and under his leadership, the organization has seen a massive increase in its overall revenue thanks to a few significant decisions from a financial standpoint.
WWE was recently sold to the Ari Emanuel-led Endeavour group, and the pro wrestling giant was subsequently merged with the UFC. However, before finding a suitable buyer, there was a lot of drama surrounding Vince McMahon's status as he was seemingly forced out of the promotion before he returned earlier this year.
Vince Russo speculated that Nick Khan and two other prominent names voted against Vince McMahon's comeback. Russo knows his former boss's vindictive personality well and is confident that Nick Khan will eventually be ousted.
He made the bold prediction on the latest Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW episode:
"Somebody write this down in the chatroom. By January 1st, 2024, Nick Khan will no longer be a part of the WWE. Mark that down, bro. We've got from not until the end of the year. I'm telling you, bro." [38:20 - 39:10]
Vince Russo on the real reason for WWE's consistent financial gains
A massive chunk of the revenue comes from its TV deals, and according to Vince Russo, the product's quality doesn't matter anymore.
The former writer has worked with many TV executives and noted that the networks only look for a company that can produce content every week, irrespective of how good it is.
World Wrestling Entertainment has decades of history of churning out stories and matches without taking a break, with pro wrestling being one of the few avenues that don't even have an off-season.
Vince Russo briefly explained:
"They are buying content, Chris. And there is a lot of bad content on TV. They are buying content. Good, bad, or indifferent, they are buying content. And they are buying a company that can churn out content on a weekly basis and all the revenue that comes with it." [40:00 onwards]
