The show of shows is almost upon us, and WWE is yet to announce the Mania card except for the main events. It has been reported that WWE still hasn't decided on what the card would look like.
It seems that the company is desperately trying to fill up the card, and Batista's shocking return this past week on Raw was a clear indication of this fact. No matter what, the WWE will somehow come up with a fleshed out card by the time Mania rolls around.
With WWE having zero ideas on how to utilize the likes of Braun and Balor, I'm excluding them from the card and letting the scenarios play out, heading into WrestleMania.
Until then, let's take a look at matches that could take place at the grandest stage of them all, based on current rumors and storylines.
#1 Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal (pre-show)
The annual battle royal has been a Mania staple since its inception at WrestleMania 30. The match was won by Cesaro who bodyslammed The Big Show to win the spot-fest and receive a push that eventually went nowhere.
With how WWE has treated their recent NXT call-ups, they need to do some damage control and let one of them win the whole thing. My pick to win the match is EC3, who is in dire need of a push to the main event scene.
Winner: EC3
#2 Cruiserweight Tournament finals (pre-show)
Buddy Murphy spent the better part of 2018 bringing back the prestige of the Cruiserweight title.
Currently, there's a tournament going on to determine the challenger for Murphy, and it's almost a lock that the challenger will be facing the champion at WrestleMania, of course on the pre-show.
With Alexander having gotten his shot at the title previously, I'm going with Tony Nese to win the tournament and face off against Murphy for the belt.
Winner: Buddy Murphy
#3 WWE Tag Team title unification open
With the lack of well-built teams on the roster at the moment, there's dire need to unify the tag team titles and have a singular championship for both brands.
WWE will most probably have a tag team title open with teams from both rosters battling it out for the unified championships. The open will most certainly be a spot fest, with at least four teams from both brands competing in it. This could be something like what the WWE did with the Cruiserweight title at WrestleMania 20.
SmackDown teams: The Hardy Boyz, The Usos, Sheamus and Cesaro, The New Day.
Raw teams: Roode-Gable, The Revival, Richochet-Aleister Black, Heavy Machinery.
Winners: Richochet-Black
#4 AJ Styles vs Randy Orton
The match was hinted on this past week's SmackDown when Orton confronted AJ backstage. Both superstars haven't had a proper program in the past, and deserve to have a full-fledged program with the initial match being a 20-minute classic at the grandest stage of them all.
Orton needs to get back to being a major threat on the main event scene, and thus needs a win at the big stage against one of the most dominant athletes in the WWE over the past three years.
Winner: Randy Orton
#5 Shane McMahon vs The Miz
The match was rumored back when the team of Shane and Miz formed, and went on to win the tag team titles. The duo lost the titles less than a month after winning them.
Although fans are speculating that The Miz will turn heel and attack Shane, the WWE might swerve us here and do the reverse. A Shane heel turn has been riding the rumor mill ever since he won the World Cup trophy at Crown Jewel.
The match will be the typical annual Shane spot fest, with The Miz coming out of it a full-blown babyface.
Winner: The Miz
#6 WWE title: Daniel Bryan vs Kofi Kingston vs Kevin Owens
The match at Fastlane is bound to end in controversial fashion, leading to Kevin Owens wanting another shot. WWE would want the match to be a star-studded affair, and hence turn it into a triple threat match.
Owens' push, that was planned before Kofi's sudden rise to the top, wouldn't be flushed down the drain at the last moment. The only difference here would be that Owens will get the gold somewhere down the line.
Winner: Kofi Kingston
#7 Triple H vs Batista
Batista's shocking return on Raw has confirmed that The Animal and The Game would be going toe to toe on the big stage, in a grudge match for the ages. Batista's movie is about to release and his presence at the show of shows would only benefit the WWE.
Batista is taking this one without a doubt, to stretch this program beyond Mania with Triple H finally getting to pin him.
Winner: Batista
#8 Universal title: Brock Lesnar vs Seth Rollins
There's always a chance that WWE could change their decision at the last minute, but it looks like Rollins will take the gold from Lesnar here.
Rollins kicks out of multiple F5s, snapping Lesnar. He proceeds to maul Seth, and the Shield come out to his aid. After a brutal beatdown on Brock, Rollins pins the champion with the Shield reuniting one final time.
Winner: Seth Rollins
#9 Raw Women's Title: Ronda Rousey vs Becky Lynch vs Charlotte
The three women are giving it all they have got to build up the match heading into WrestleMania. There's not a shred of doubt that the match will be an instant classic, and could quite possibly be a five-star affair.
Again, WWE could swerve us at the last moment, but with how they have been building Becky since the past few months, it seems that we will witness a final visual of Becky holding the strap to end WrestleMania 35.
Winner: Becky Lynch
#10 Asuka vs Lacey Evans
It's becoming clearer with each passing day that Lacey Evans will face Asuka at Metlife Stadium for the women's gold. She has been making random appearances on both brands and will confront The Empress of Tomorrow after the Fastlane PPV.
With Asuka having already lost her streak at last year's Mania, it seems that she will leave this year's event with the belt, and could drop it to Evans later on a B-level PPV.
Winner: Asuka
#11 Women's Battle Royal
There are a bunch of women on the roster at the moment who will be sitting idly at the show of shows. What better way to give them a spotlight than the 2nd annual Women's Battle Royal?
Women like Mandy, Sonya, Nia Jax, and many more down in NXT will get a chance to shine in front of 70,000 fans. The winner is hard to predict at this point but I would like an NXT call-up to win the match.
Winner: Bianca Belair
#12 Retirement Match: Rey Mysterio vs Andrade
The bout between these two high flyers is getting a well deserved slow build, and it might culminate into a match at WrestleMania, with Rey's career on the line.
Rey Mysterio was one of the most exciting superstars during The Ruthless Aggression Era, but his time is almost up. Who better to retire Rey at the biggest stage of them all, than another talented high flyer in Andrade?
Winner: Andrade
#13 Roman Reigns vs Dean Ambrose
From what we saw on Raw, Roman doesn't seem to have forgiven Dean for what he did to Rollins. We have also been seeing Dean being confused with whether he's still Rollins' friend or not.
This will lead to a match between Reigns and Ambrose, with Roman winning the bout and Dean finally coming back to his senses.
Later in the night, during a vicious attack on Rollins by Lesnar, they will come out and help their brother slay The Beast and claim the Universal title, in a final Shield reunion. This would act as a perfect send-off for Ambrose.
Winner: Roman Reigns
