We are merely a month away from WrestleMania and the match-card is slowly building up. This past Sunday, Elimination Chamber pay-per-view concluded, and now Fastlane, the final pay-per-view before the Show of Shows, is set to take place in two weeks.
All the titles will definitely be defended at WrestleMania, and as of now two titles matches have been confirmed, with Brock Lesnar defending his Universal Championship against 2019 Men's Royal Rumble match winner Seth Rollins, and Ronda Rousey set to defend her Raw Women's Title against Charlotte Flair after 2019 Women's Royal Rumble match winner Becky Lynch was pulled from the match by Vince McMahon.
There are still eight more championship matches left to be announced for the event, so here are predictions for the remaining championship matches for WrestleMania 35...
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
#7 Sasha Banks and Bayley (c) vs. Nia Jax and Tamina vs. Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville vs. Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir (Fatal 4-Way Match for WWE Women's Tag Team Championship)
It was a really feel good moment when Sasha Banks and Bayley became the first WWE Women's Tag Team Champions at Elimination Chamber 2019 by defeating five other teams. After struggling for more than a year they finally received a moment they deserved.
Now, they were already rumored to win the titles and defend it against Trish Stratus and Lita at WrestleMania. But there are new rumors floating around that The Boss 'N' Hug Connection will defend their newly won titles in a Fatal 4-Way Match.
The expected match is set to involve a Raw team, a SmackDown team and an NXT team. Jax and Tamina are strong contenders to take the Raw team spot since they are rumored to be first challengers for the champions at Fastlane, whereas Rose and Deville could take the SmackDown spot as they were last to be eliminated in the Elimination Chamber match.
The NXT spot should be given to Duke and Shafir. Now it's true that it wouldn't make sense to give them this spot since both have yet to establish themselves in NXT but it would help build to a future Four Horsewomen vs. Four Horsewomen feud.
#7 R-Truth (c) vs. Andrade vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Samoa Joe vs. Mustafa Ali vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Kofi Kingston (Ladder Match for United States Championship)
Ladder Matches were a trend for the past few years in WrestleMania cards. Originally these matches used to involve Money in the Banks contracts, but now it involves title matches. The Intercontinental Championship was often defended in these matches.
Last year no ladder match took place on the WrestleMania card, but a year before at WrestleMania 33, the Raw Tag Team Championship was defended in a Ladder Match involving four teams. Before this, at WrestleMania 32 and 31, the Intercontinental Championship was contested in a Ladder Match between 7 superstars.
This year the United States Championship should be defended in a Ladder Match. Currently R-Truth is the champion, and he has only defended his title once since winning it. He could defend this title directly at WrestleMania against Andrade, Rey Mysterio, Samoa Joe, Mustafa Ali, Jeff Hardy and Kofi Kingston.
Andrade and Mysterio were feuding with each other before Royal Rumble 2019 but they have not been on television lately, so WWE will likely put them in this match. As for Joe, Ali, Hardy and Kingston, they will also be added to this match since they aren't expected to face WWE Champion Daniel Bryan at the Show of Shows.
#6 Buddy Murphy (c) vs. The Brian Kendrick (Cruiserweight Championship Match)
This past week on 205 Live, Drake Maverick the General Manager of 205 Live announced WrestleMania plans for the Cruiserweight Championship. He scheduled an eight-man single elimination tournament with the winner facing Cruiserweight Champion Buddy Murphy at WrestleMania 35.
Now there will be definitely a lot of 205 Live stars who can face Murphy for the title but I believe, The Brian Kendrick is the best option to face Murphy at Mania, due to a shortage of babyface opponents. Kendrick has been announced for the first round matches for next Tuesday night and he is set to face Drew Guluk.
With TJP and Hideo Itami released from the company and Lio Rush working on the main roster alongside Bobby Lashley, it would make sense for a former Cruiserweight Champion to win the tournament and face Buddy Murphy for the title at WrestleMania.
#5 The Revival (c) vs. DIY (Raw Tag Team Championship Match)
In a surprising turn of events, there were four huge NXT call-ups on this past week's Raw and SmackDown. Two of them were NXT North American Champion Johnny Gargano and NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa.
Both of these competitors were a tag team until Ciampa turned on Gargano, but they once again worked together on their main roster debut as they defeated Raw Tag Team Champions The Revival on Raw, and one night later they defeated The Bar on SmackDown.
If you remember the history between The Revival and DIY in NXT, you would know that these two teams put NXT's tag team division on the map with their incredible performances. They faced off on NXT Takeover Brooklyn and Toronto, producing some of the best storytelling as well as best in-ring action you would see in today's WWE.
WWE can relive this rivalry at WrestleMania 35, already they have defeated The Revival so a opportunity for those titles doesn't seem far away. Former Champions Roode and Gable still have to get their rematch for the titles, which can happen at the next pay-per-view Fastlane. From there we can begin the thrilling rivalry between The Revival and DIY.
#4 The Usos (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura and Rusev (SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match)
The Usos became SmackDown Tag Team Champions for the fourth time at Elimination Chamber 2019. They defeated the newly formed team of The Miz and Shane McMahon who won the titles last month at the Royal Rumble 2019 by defeating The Bar.
The title change occurred after there were rumors that The Usos had asked for their release from the WWE. Now a rematch is scheduled for Fastlane, which will be likely won by The Usos because The Miz and Shane McMahon are rumored to collide at WrestleMania 35.
There was another big alliance that took place after Royal Rumble 2019, which was between Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura, who formed an alliance on SmackDown after R-Truth became United States Champion and defeated both of them. The Super Athlete and The King of Strong Style would be credible opponents for the twin brothers at the show of shows.
#3 Finn Bálor (c) vs. Ricochet vs. Aleister Black (Triple Threat Match for Intercontinental Championship)
Ricochet and Aleister Black were the other two huge NXT call-ups after DIY this past week on Raw and SmackDown. Ricochet teamed with Finn Bálor to defeat Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush on his Raw debut and then defeated Eric Young on his SmackDown debut.
Black defeated Elias on his Raw debut and then defeated Andrade on his SmackDown debut. Both of them had great impact on their main roster debuts on both the brands and surely this will continue in the following weeks and pay-per-views.
But the main focus of every superstar right now is WrestleMania and it will be interesting to know what these two top NXT stars will be doing at the event. One possible option is facing the new Intercontinental Champion Finn Bálor in a triple threat match at the big event.
Bálor won the title after defeating Lashley and Rush at Elimination Chamber 2019 in a handicap match, there might be a rematch between the duo at Fastlane. From there we can move into a dream encounter between three of the best high flying athletes in the WWE today. Whoever comes out the winner doesn't matter, but this match will definitely be a treat for every wrestling fan in this world.
#2 Asuka (c) vs. Lacey Evans (SmackDown Women's Championship Match)
This year's WrestleMania card looks to be more about NXT superstars rather than part-time superstars. Another new NXT call-up, Lacey Evans, is rumored to face Asuka for the SmackDown Women's Championship at WrestleMania 35.
Evans was advertised to debut on the main roster three months back after The McMahons announced there will be new faces arriving on Raw and SmackDown. She was the first entrant in the Women's Royal Rumble match this year.
There have been various rumors of WWE being extremely high on Evans and wanting to give her a "super big push". There were also rumors that Vince McMahon compares her to Roman Reigns and will make her one of top three female stars of WWE with Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch, after Ronda Rousey moves out of the company.
Now these rumors would be true if she ends up facing The Empress of Tomorrow for the title at WrestleMania 35. It will be too soon to push her in the main event picture but again this is WWE, once they decide their top star, they will do everything in their power to make it work. If you don't believe me, have a look at Roman Reigns' career.
#1 Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Kevin Owens (WWE Championship Match)
The ongoing heel run of WWE Champion "The New" Daniel Bryan has been quite successful for the WWE. He defeated five other superstars inside Elimination chamber to retain his title and now will defend it against Kofi Kingston a the next pay-per-view Fastlane.
Bryan is rumored to face a returning superstar at this year's WrestleMania instead of anyone from the current roster to bring star power to WrestleMania. There were seven names pitched as possible opponents for Bryan, such as Bray Wyatt, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Kurt Angle, John Cena, Batista, and The Undertaker.
Finally one of the superstars that could have been picked from that list is Kevin Owens who now is heavily rumored to return and face Bryan for the WWE Championship at the Show of Shows. Owens is expected to return next month in action, and there are videos by WWE of Owens hanging out with his family and being more of a "regular guy". This could be leading to this match at Mania.
