Predicting the results of this week's Mae Young Classic matches (9/19/18)

Karen Q vs Xia Li

Xia Li is about to have her second televised matchup.

Xia Li was a part of last year's Mae Young Classic and was eliminated in the first round by Mercedes Martinez (it was her first match ever). She will receive another opportunity this year against Karen Q (who has wrestled on the independent scenes).

Xia Li has probably immensely improved since last year so WWE may want to give her an opportunity. She was also eliminated in the first round of last year's Mae Young Classic so WWE may want to make it up to her. However, Karen Q is more reliable in the ring.

She also has faced Deonna Purrazzo (who the winner of this match will face in the next round) and WWE seems to love featuring rivalries that occurred in the independent scenes in the Mae Young Classic 2018.

Because both Karen Q and Deonna Purrazzo both use a submission as a finishing move, WWE may want to push their match as a match between two masters of a specific submission move. While Xia Li is signed to WWE and Karen Q is not, it will still be Karen Q that gets the win.
