This would certainly be quite a surprise.

Shinsuke Nakamura claims that he has no competition on SmackDown Live. I got the feeling that his complaints will lead to him eventually being confronted by an NXT call-up or a returning WWE superstar. While Aleister Black would be an excellent candidate to challenge Shinsuke Nakamura, he is currently injured and will likely return to NXT to feud with whoever attacked him before he joins the main roster. Therefore, it makes sense for WWE to start a dream feud between Rey Mysterio and Shinsuke Nakamura when Rey Mysterio inevitably returns to WWE.

WWE will obviously want to book a dream feud between Rey Mysterio and Shinsuke Nakamura as soon as possible. WWE will obviously want to heavily push Rey Mysterio when he returns so he will probably get the win (preferably after Survivor Series). Rey Mysterio can then defend his title against the likes of Rusev, Randy Orton, and Andrade 'Cien' Almas.
