#1 WWE Champion: Aleister Black

Will McIntyre "fade to black"?
Will McIntyre "fade to black"?

Drew McIntyre has had a stunning 2020 so far, despite the setback of having his big moment take place without any fans in attendance. He is the current WWE Champion, defeating Brock Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania Night 2.

McIntyre will defend his title against Seth Rollins at Money in the Bank, a match he is likely to win. Also on the card, Aleister Black is the overwhelming favorite to win the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. And his steady rise on RAW suggests that he is set to be a main-event player as the year progresses.

The current climate might mean that part-timers like Brock Lesnar and Edge do not return for a while, meaning that McIntyre might be dethroned by one of the regular faces on the Red brand. From those options, Black is probably the best choice.

His likely briefcase victory would serve as a major boost, as the Dutch Destroyer heads towards the WWE Championship. A big-time title match between Drew McIntyre and Aleister Black also seems like one of the biggest matches WWE can offer at the moment.
