Preview: WWE SmackDown 8/3/2013

This week’s Friday Night SmackDown will be from Albany, New York and is headlined by the match between the World Heavyweight Champion Alberto del Rio and the ‘Show Off’ Dolph Ziggler. The show will also feature stars like Sheamus, Mark Henry, Big Show and Ryback in action.

Dolph Ziggler will take on the World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio on SmackDown.

Alberto Del Rio vs Dolph Ziggler

On last week’s Social Media SmackDown, the WWE Universe was asked to pick an opponent for the World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio among Dolph Ziggler, United States Champion Antonio Cesaro and Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett. With Dolph Ziggler emerging as the winner in that poll, he will face Del Rio this week on Smackdown. Dolph Ziggler is in a slump currently with several losses over the past few weeks. Will he be able resurrect his journey in the road to Wrestlemania or will Alberto Del Rio force him to take a detour?

Big Show’s reaction to the Shield’s attack post Raw

Following this week’s Raw wherein Big Show was attacked by the Shield backstage to avenge his knockout punch on Roman Reigns on last week’s SmackDown, Big Show will definitely be in a mood for some payback. Who will bear the brunt of Big Show’s anger? Is Sheamus going to be knocked out in his match against Big Show? Randy Orton‘s involvement in this mix will be known at SmackDown.

Jack Swagger & Zeb Coulter

While Alberto Del Rio might already have a match against Ziggler, he also has to deal with the antics of the ‘Real American’ duo of Jack Swagger and Zeb Coulter as he did on Raw, coming to the aid of Jim Ross. It will to interesting to see what Swagger & Coulter have in store for us on the show.

Mark Henry – Ryback situation

On Raw earlier this week, Mark Henry and Ryback had a face off after the World’s Strongest Man made light work of Zack Ryder. It seems likely that these two will be involved in a feud in the lead up to Wrestlemania 29. What will happen when these two meet face to face again?

Team Hell No in action

Kane & Daniel Bryan will take on Heath Slater & Drew McIntyre of 3MB in a tag-team match. Will the tag-team champions get an easy victory or will 3MB get a surprise victory?

Will Fandango get physical?

After delaying his in-ring debut on last week’s SmackDown as well as Old School Raw, Fandango might be in action on Smackdown. He is scheduled to take on the South African sensation Justin Gabriel.
