Pro Wrestling News: Will Ospreay reacts to CM Punk praising him

The latest edition of WWE Backstage confirmed that John Morrison has signed a new multi-year deal with the company. Since the announcement, several Superstars have commented on the return of the former WWE Intercontinental Champion, including Morrison himself.

The Mayor of Slamtown exclaimed that he is eagerly waiting to share the ring with some of the best talents in the world upon his return to WWE. CM Punk reacted to his tweet by stating that Will Ospreay wrestles in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

The former WWE Champion believes that NJPW possess the best of the wrestlers in the modern era and if John Morrison wanted to square off against such talents, he should have signed a deal with the Japanse promotion. Morrison responded to the tweet and so did the reigning IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay.

For those who didn't know, Punk has been a vocal supporter of Ospreay's work and has put him over in several interviews. So the former WWE Champion namedropping him is not so surprising. If anyone is a regular follower of NJPW, they will agree with his statement that Ospreay is one of the best wrestlers in the business now, outside of WWE.

Although CM Punk tweeted regarding WWE re-signing John Morrison to a new deal, expect him to shed more light on the topic when he returns to WWE Backstage next week.
