It has been a few weeks since Randy Orton appeared in WWE. An assault and a banned move (piledriver) from Kevin Owens on SmackDown ruled him out indefinitely amid his recovery from multiple injuries.
KO got a title match against the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes at Saturday Night's Main Event and will look to become a world champion, as things have become quite personal between the American Nightmare and Kevin Owens.
Given that there is no exact return date, Randy Orton could show up at Saturday Night's Main Event and go after the former world champion. With that in mind, we look at Randy Orton and another four superstars who might return in the final premium live event of 2024.
#5. Matt Cardona could be at his wife Chelsea Green's corner in the Women's United States Championship Finals

Matt Cardona (aka Zack Ryder) hasn't been seen in WWE since his departure in 2020. Still, he has been linked to a return to the company, as his wife, Chelsea Green, competes on SmackDown.
Green is in the semi-finals of the Women's United States Championship and will face Bayley for a spot in the Finals, which will take place at Saturday Night's Main Event.
If Chelsea makes it to the Finals, Matt Cardona could show up to support his wife in her effort to become the inaugural Women's United States Champion.
#4. Alexa Bliss could return after nearly two years
It has been nearly two years since Bliss last competed in WWE.
Even if reports have surfaced that WWE Creative has no plans for her until after the holidays, she could show up at the final PLE of 2024 to kick off her next storyline.
Upon her return, she could become a candidate for the newly introduced Women's United States Championship or go directly after the reigning Women's Champion, Nia Jax.
#3. Charlotte Flair has been out since December 2023
The Queen has been out since December 2023, recovering from a serious knee injury that required surgery. WWE ruled her out indefinitely, but Flair is now close to her comeback.
Charlotte could appear at Saturday Night's Main Event to confront Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton if they are both part of the show or cut a promo about what is next for her.
#2. The Rock could interfere in Cody Rhodes' title match
It has been two months since his last appearance in WWE. The Final Boss came to the stage in the final moments of Bad Blood and stared down Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes.
This time, he could interfere in the title match between the American Nightmare and Kevin Owens to either cost him the championship or distract him and make it clear that he will go after him next.
#1. Randy Orton could assault Kevin Owens during his title match
Randy Orton is out indefinitely. Since WWE has no timetable, he could return sooner than expected and assault Kevin Owens at Saturday Night's Main Event.
Randy Orton seeks revenge on KO, and an assault on him could be the next step in their feud. The 14-time World Champion will also want to help his good friend Cody Rhodes, who came to his aid against KO. Thus, a comeback on December 14 is a likely scenario, as it will add new angles to his rivalry with the former world champion.
