Randy Orton has yet to unveil his evil side since returning to WWE last year. However, Kevin Owens' recent actions could be the last straw that broke the camel's back for The Viper.
The 44-year-old WWE legend hasn't been seen on WWE TV since Kevin Owens hit him with a banned Piledriver on the November 8 episode of SmackDown. The Canadian wrestler used the same maneuver to put Cody Rhodes out of commission at Saturday Night's Main Event.
Randy Orton may be the modern-day Dirtiest Player in the Game, but Kevin Owens is operating on a different level. The Apex Predator would be risking his career if he were to go back to fight his former friend alone.
Hence, The Legend Killer needs to be smart and play his cards right. Randy Orton bringing back Afa Anoa'i Jr. (fka Manu) to WWE and reuniting The Legacy with Cody Rhodes would not only give fans a slice of nostalgia but also eliminate the threat, i.e. Kevin Owens.
Former WWE writer buries Judgment Day HERE
For those unaware, Manu was one of the original members of The Legacy group led by Randy Orton. However, his time with the stable didn't last long as he failed to impress the leader and was kicked out.
Manu, who was let go by WWE in 2009, has previously expressed his desire to work with Cody Rhodes. The American Nightmare has a history with Afa Anoaʻi Jr. as he turned his back on him and pledged his allegiance to the Legacy leader.
As they say, time heals all wounds. Rhodes and Manu could hash things out and reform The Legacy with Orton in 2025.
As of this writing, there's no word on whether WWE has any plans to revive The Legacy in the future. Still, it's a food for thought so readers are advised to take it with a grain of salt.
Will Randy Orton turn heel on Cody Rhodes upon his WWE return?
Randy Orton has had Cody Rhodes' back since his return, but The Viper has also teased coming after the Undisputed WWE Championship.
The two men may have a common enemy now, but their paths seem destined to cross sooner or later.
Speaking on the Straight Talk with The Boss podcast, Magnum T. A. said he sees Orton, not Owens, dethroning Rhodes in the future.
"I don't see Owens beating Cody. I see Randy beating Cody."
It will be interesting to see if and when Triple H will pull the trigger on the rivalry between the two former Legacy members. Will this be the direction for WrestleMania 41? Only time will tell.
