There Is Venom In His Blood, and Poison In His Veins.
So here we are at the end of a year gone by and at the edge of a new one. A lot has changed in WWE, but arguably the biggest landscape-changer of all is the long-awaited unification of the esteemed WWE and World Heavyweight Championship titles. Ever since WWE diluted the brand extension, it didn’t make much sense for two major champions to be walking around. As opposed to having the titles merge at WrestleMania 30 year, we now have one ultimate WWE World Heavyweight Champion in The Viper, The Apex Predator…Randy Orton!
Here’s the truth: I’ve never been a fan of Randy Orton, the man outside the ring, but I’ve always been a huge fan of his in-ring work. I honestly think he’s one of the best in-ring performers WWE has ever had. While his move delivery is amazing, his speed is admirable, and the RKO is just a work of art unfolding before your very eyes, it’s his ability to tell good stories in his matches is what I like best. Take his recent matches with Daniel Bryan, for instance, or any of his older matches with Christian…they’re all fun to watch.

What I’d really like to see though, is Randy Orton going back to his brutal-psycho days from 2008 – 2009. I know The Authority pushed him towards that and asked him to bring out that part of him that was seemingly locked away for years, I feel like he hasn’t really gone fullblown beserker just yet. All we saw was him torturing The Miz in front of Miz’s concerned Mom and void-of-all-emotion Dad…and that was a long time ago by WWE’s standards. I want the real Randy Orton to crawl out of the darkness. I want the serpent to slither out of his cave and prime himself for the attack. I want the Randy Orton who was at the top simply because he was a vile, despicable human being and proved day after day that he was WWE’s apex predator. And I feel like we’ll be seeing that in the months to come leading up to WrestleMania…or so I hope.
That’s why I made this wallpaper; to put an idea out there that there is poison in Orton’s blood and it fuels him. All we need is for something to snap, and we’ll have crazy-eyed almost-bald totally-beardless Orton back again. And yes, I also made it because he’s our WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Do I think he deserves it? Let’s just say it’s better than Cena. I would have loved to see CM Punk vs Daniel Bryan for the historic unification match, but I’m sure those two will have their day soon. As far as I’m concerned, Orton’s a good champ. If you hate his guts, he’s obviously doing his job right.
