Randy Orton is set to collide with Gunther at Bash in Berlin on August 31, with the World Heavyweight Championship on the line. This will be a rematch from the King of the Ring Tournament finals back in late May, where The Ring General emerged victorious following a controversial ending to the match.
As a result, Orton is now out for revenge, and WWE could extend this feud past the Bash in Berlin Premium Live Event.
Meanwhile, Bronson Reed's attack on Seth Rollins ruled The Visionary out indefinitely, and Reed could be in pursuit of another superstar to make another statement, and this superstar could be The Viper.
Bronson Reed could assault Randy Orton and give Ilja Dragunov a title match
Bronson Reed's potential assault on Randy Orton could sideline The Viper for a few weeks, which would mean that WWE would have to find a replacement and a new opponent for Gunther.
In that scenario, Reed would be suspended indefinitely, and RAW General Manager Adam Pearce could name Ilja Dragunov as Gunther's opponent at Bash in Berlin, re-igniting the feud between the two superstars.
It would help extend the title match to Bad Blood in October
If Gunther defeats Randy Orton at Bash in Berlin, the feud between the two stars would probably end, and both would move on to a new storyline.
Thus, Bronson Reed's potential attack on Randy Orton would rule him out, giving WWE the chance to extend the feud and schedule the title match for the next premium Live Event, Bad Blood (October 5).
In the meantime, The Viper would return to take on Bronson Reed on RAW before going after The Ring General again.
It would give more time to Seth Rollins to recover
It is unknown how much time Seth Rollins will need to recover following the brutal assault by Bronson Reed last week. Thus, an attack on Orton by Reed and a match between the two in the coming weeks would give The Visionary more time to recover and come back to get revenge on the 35-year-old.
Should this happen, WWE could schedule two matches for Bad Blood in early October, namely Orton vs. Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship and Rollins vs. Reed.
