Randy Orton's former partner to return at WWE Money in the Bank? Exploring the possibility amid recent reports

On SmackDown, Randy Orton finds himself aligned with Kevin Owens against The Bloodline. He is expected to be involved in a six-man tag team match at Money in the Bank. Orton and Owens will team up with Cody Rhodes to face The Bloodline.

However, there are also speculations about one of Orton's former partners returning to WWE at Money in the Bank. The star in question is one-half of RK-Bro, Matt Riddle. Recently, Riddle revealed that Orton keeps calling him back to WWE. However, due to the former UFC fighter's schedule, it does not seem like he will come back any time soon.

While Money in the Bank is on July 6th at the Scotiabank Arena in Ontario, Canada, Matt Riddle is busy working the indies and Major League Wrestling. He is also scheduled to take part in a meet and greet for MLW Blood & Thunder ’24 at the Coliseum in St. Petersburg, Florida on Friday, July 12.

Hence, given his busy schedule, it does not seem like Matt Riddle will return to the Stamford-based promotion at Money in the Bank. However, it will be interesting to see if Riddle returns to the promotion somewhere down the line.

Ex-WWE host says he wants Randy Orton to face a current champion

Heading towards SummerSlam, it's not known who Randy Orton will face at the PLE till now. However, given how the story is evolving, many believe he would be involved in a program with The Bloodline. But, an ex-WWE host recently said he would prefer seeing The Apex Predator take on the current Undisputed WWE Champion.

During an episode of The Wrestling Matt, former RAW Talk host Matt Camp said he would like to see Randy Orton face Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam. He said:

"I would like it not to be Cody and Solo at SummerSlam. I would like it to be Cody and Randy. I think that's money. I think if done correctly, that's the shot in the arm the entire championship picture needs."

Fans are dying to see this match ever since The American Nightmare became the Undisputed WWE Champion at WrestleMania. After all, Orton and Rhodes share a lot of history, and even some 'legacy.' It will be interesting to see if WWE does end up booking something along these lines for The Biggest Party of the Summer.
