Between 2007 and 2009, Randy Orton and John Cena had various bouts under various stipulations against each other. They even faced each other in an I quit match as well as a Hell in a Cell match. However, at Bragging Rights 2009, Orton decided to escalate the punishments he inflicted on Cena.

During a 60 minutes Ironman match, Orton placed Cena on the ramp in the pyro area and triggered them. Even though Cena escaped the pyro blast, this attempt was barbaric.
