When Randy Orton returned to WWE at Survivor Series 2023, revenge against The Bloodline was on his agenda. However, it would be safe to say The Apex Predator has not been able to carry out his revenge successfully. Time after time, Orton has failed against one of WWE's best factions.
While Orton is still being cheered on by the fans, there is a chance he could turn heel and attack a nine-time champion. If you think the nine-time champion is Cody Rhodes, then you are wrong. The nine-time champion in question is the Canadian Prizefighter Kevin Owens.
When Randy Orton teamed up with Owens on SmackDown, he would have hoped for victory against The Bloodline. However, every time the duo faced the Solo Sikoa-led faction, they only suffered defeat. These constant losses could lead to The Viper turning his back on Owens and turning heel.
A former WWE writer just went after JBL for his comments HERE
Anyway, it's a known fact that friendships don't last long when it comes to Randy Orton. Hence, in the coming weeks on SmackDown, it won't be surprising to see the 14-time World Champion turn heel and go after Kevin Owens. It will be interesting to follow the developments about these two on the blue brand.
Wrestling analyst says WWE could be planning a massive match for Randy Orton post-SummerSlam
Since his return, Randy Orton has mainly been involved in tag team matches and his story against The Bloodline. However, as per a wrestling analyst, this story could completely change, and Orton could be booked in a big match after SummerSlam.
During an episode of the Notsam Wrestling podcast, host Sam Roberts said The Apex Predator might receive a World Heavyweight Championship opportunity if Gunther is able to beat Damian Priest at SummerSlam. Roberts said:
"It was said we'll run it back, and maybe it'll still happen at some point. They could be waiting for either we can do it on the road to SummerSlam. Somehow Gunther going over to SmackDown or Randy coming over to RAW for a special match on the way to SummerSlam, or if Gunther were to win the title, maybe that's when Randy goes, 'Hey, Hold up. Paul Levesque had mentioned something about this running this back.' I think now's a good time. Now you have that title. Now's a good time to run it back. I think it would be a very good idea," Sam Roberts. (30:27 - 31:04)
For those unaware, Gunther beat Randy Orton controversially to become the King of the Ring in Saudi Arabia earlier this year. After the controversial ending to the match, Triple H spoke about the possibility of running back the match between the two superstars.
