16-time World Champion John Cena has had quite an impressive record at the WWE Survivor Series event. Cena has competed in 11 matches at the show and has won nine of those, with only two losses. His first outing at the event was a huge victory, against Team Lesnar. Cena and Chris Benoit were the survivors in the match. Two years later, Cena defeated Kurt Angle to retain his WWE title.
At Survivor Series 2008, Cena defeated Chris Jericho to win the World title. A year later, he defeated both Triple H and Shawn Michaels in a Triple Threat match to retain his WWE title. The next year, Cena would team up with The Rock in the latter's first match in seven years, in a winning effort against R-Truth and The Miz.
At Survivor Series 2014, Team Cena defeated The Authority in a Traditional Survivor Series Elimination match, when Sting came out and took out Triple H. This was Cena's last win at the event. The only two matches that he lost were an Elimination match in 2017, and a Triple Threat match for the WWE title in 2012, which also marked the debut of The Shield.

Given the opportunity to script WWE’s next big storyline, Abhilash would treat fans to the second installment of The Bloodline Civil War. He would book Roman Reigns to re-form The Bloodline with The Usos and Sami Zayn upon his comeback. The angle would see The Tribal Chief-led group go head-to-head with The Rock, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu in a blockbuster family feud.
