#2 Best Money in the Bank performers: Edge
The Rated-R Superstar made history by winning the first-ever Money in the Bank Ladder Match in history. Everything was special about the first edition of the match that would become a staple in WWE programming.
Every wrestler in the first Money in the Bank Ladder Match was either a main event star or a potential main eventer. Edge faced Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit, Christian, Kane, and Shelton Benjamin in one of the greatest editions of the match in wrestling history.
As a pioneer of ladder matches as we know them today, Edge was obviously a favorite going into the contest, but no one would believe the performance he put in on the day. He won the title and held the title for 280 days before finally cashing in on the WWE Champion John Cena after an exhausting match. It would set the trend for future Money in the Bank briefcase holders.
Much like Rob Van Dam, Edge only participated in three editions of the match, but each time, his performance was memorable, making him one of the best of all time. He would also win the Money in the Bank briefcase from Mr. Kennedy later, when the latter lost favor with WWE officials, leading to a second briefcase win without winning it in the match itself.
