#1 Brock Lesnar vs Kurt Angle (WWE WrestleMania XIX)

WWE WrestleMania XIX saw one of the most memorable and terrifying moments in WrestleMania history in its main event.
After dropping the WWE Championship to The Big Show at Survivor Series in 2002, Brock Lesnar turned babyface for the first time in his career. This was followed by Lesnar winning the 2003 Royal Rumble match, setting up a WrestleMania XIX showdown with the new WWE Champion Kurt Angle at the event.
However, there were significant issues heading into the event. Kurt Angle sustained a broken neck prior to WrestleMania, leading to doubts that Angle would even be able to compete in the advertised match against Brock Lesnar. Nevertheless, Kurt Angle was able to get cleared by his doctor and faced off against Lesnar in the closing match of the show. This would mark the first WrestleMania main event for both Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle.
The WrestleMania XIX bout was a fantastic match that highlighted both superstars' amateur wrestling backgrounds. However, the match is arguably best remembered for what happened in its closing moments. Brock Lesnar surprisingly climbed to the top rope and attempted to hit Kurt Angle with a Shooting Star Press. Lesnar had successfully utilized the move on several occasions during his time in WWE's developmental territory, OVW.
Unfortunately for Lesnar, he hesitated slightly which caused him to botch the move and land completely on his head and neck. This caused the young superstar to legitimately suffer a serious concussion. Kurt Angle was forced to think on his feet as this was the planned finish for the match and he needed to have surgery on his already broken neck.
Angle improvised and told Brock Lesnar to hit him with an F5. Lesnar did, which allowed him to win the match and recapture the WWE Championship once more. Despite being best known for the botched Shooting Star Press, the match was truly worthy of main eventing WrestleMania and provided excellent entertainment.
