#1 Cesaro and Chris Hero (Kassius Ohno) - (The Kings of Wrestling)
OK, so - technically - this wasn't a WWE tag team. But both Cesaro and Chris Hero eventually ended up in WWE at the same time and, let's face it, they were awesome, so I'm not only including them - I'm putting them at #1.
The Kings of Wrestling are the tag team involving Cesaro that arguably most fans look back most fondly on. Cesaro and Hero were a staple of the independent scene of throughout the mid-2000s and are former 2-time CZW World Tag Team Champions, 2-time ROH World Tag Team Champions and were also voted the Tag Team of the year by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter in 2010.
Originally formed as a large stable with numerous wrestlers in Chikara, The Kings of Wrestling are best known as the tag team of Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli (Cesaro). After the duo's initial run from 2005 - 2007, The Kings of Wrestling reformed at Ring of Honor's Final Battle pay per view in 2009, the company's first internet pay-per-view.
Throughout 2010, The Kings of Wrestling set, not only Ring of Honor, but the entire independent wrestling scene on fire with their fantastic Tag Team matches. The duo would hold the ROH World Tag Team Championships for 364 days and win the Wrestling Observer Newsletter award for Tag Team of the year.
The Kings of Wrestling would make their last appearance for Ring of Honor on ROH TV in 2011, but fans have continued to clamour for the Tag Team to once again partner up in some form.
Whilst both wrestlers were signed to WWE, Chris Hero (now known as Kassius Ohno) and Claudio Castagnoli (now known as Antonio Cesaro) would reunite in a dark match during a WWE NXT television taping, facing off against WWE Champion CM Punk and NXT Champion Seth Rollins, a match they lost.
A second reunion also took place during an NXT live event in September of 2018 where Cesaro would save Kassius Ohno from an attack by The Undisputed Era. With some fans hoping this would lead to an eventual full time Kings of Wrestling reunion, it would be no more than a special one-off for the live crowd in attendance.
With Kassius Ohno no longer with the company, it looks like a future Kings of Wrestling reunion is unlikely to happen. Although, the appetite remains from professional wrestling fans to see the duo team up once again. This serves as testament to the impact of The Kings of Wrestling during their run as a Tag Team.
