Elimination Chamber 2019 will take place this Sunday on February 17, 2019, starting at 7 PM on the WWE Network (the kickoff show starts at 6 PM on the WWE Network and WWE's Youtube Channel).
One of the big matches of the show is the women's tag team title Elimination Chamber match, because the first ever women's tag team champions will be crowned as the Boss and Hug Connection, the IIconics, the Riott Squad, Fire and Desire (Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose), Nia Jax and Tamina, & Carmella and Naomi compete in the first-ever women's tag team Elimination Chamber match (and the second ever tag team elimination chamber match in history).
It has already been confirmed that the Boss and Hug Connection and Fire and Desire will be the first entrants in this match-up. The other 4 tag teams will wait in pods before entering the match.
The last tag team standing will become the inaugural women's tag team champions. While some of these teams have a really good chance at winning the titles, others do not have as good a chance, with one team having no chance whatsoever.
#6 Carmella and Naomi
Out of all of the tag teams in this match, Carmella and Naomi are not an official tag team. However, SmackDown Live has a limited amount of teams, and if they wanted to have Naomi enter this match, this was the only option.
The two have three SmackDown Women's Title reigns combined, so they certainly are not a team to underestimate and did score the win in the triple threat tag team match on SmackDown Live to determine who would enter the Elimination Chamber first.
They are entertaining as a duo, but this team will likely not last for long. While they will likely heavily contribute to this match-up, it is still unlikely that a thrown together team like Carmella and Naomi will win the titles.
#5 Fire and Desire
It is pretty surprising that out of all of the teams in the women's Elimination Chamber match, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville have one of the worst chances of winning the titles. The two have been breakout stars on SmackDown Live and have been positioned as SmackDown Live's top women's tag team.
However, there are 2 things that really lessens their chances. Due to Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville's feud with Naomi, it is likely that Naomi eliminates Mandy Rose to get some more momentum in their rivalry.
Even if that doesn't happen, WWE has also positioned the 2 women as future singles stars, and both are among the best options to challenge Asuka for the SmackDown Women's Championship at WrestleMania. Therefore, they will likely lose this match so that one (or both) of them can be built up for a women's title match in the near future.
#4 The Riott Squad
The Riott Squad has a simple dynamic. Ruby Riott normally goes for the Raw Women's Championship while Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan try their best to help her out. However, with the introduction of the women's tag team titles, Sarah Logan, and Liv Morgan now have something to do as a tag team.
Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan defeated the team of Natalya and Dana Brooke to qualify for this match-up. They would certainly be great as tag team champions, given the fact that they can defend the titles alongside Ruby Riott by using the Freebird Rule.
However, they will likely not win the titles yet given the fact that it is WrestleMania season and WWE might not trust them to head into WrestleMania with the gold around their waists. While they are future champions, they will not be winning the titles at Elimination Chamber.
#3 The IIconics
The Women's Tag Team Championships were made for a tag team like the IIconics. Peyton Royce and Billie Kay are unlike several other tag teams in the women's division because they spent all of their WWE careers together.
Since their days in NXT, they have been a dominant tag team as they defeated the likes of Liv Morgan and Aliyah as well as Liv Morgan and Ember Moon. They also debuted on the SmackDown Live roster together as they destroyed Charlotte Flair.
Since then they have defeated the tag teams of Asuka & Becky Lynch, as well as Asuka & Naomi. While the IIconics have been presented as nothing more than jobbers since joining SmackDown Live, their tag team chemistry has still been constantly shown on WWE television.
The two stood tall over the other SmackDown Live women's tag teams on this past episode of SmackDown Live. However, while they have a good chance at winning the titles, it probably won't happen at Elimination Chamber.
#2 Nia Jax and Tamina
Nia Jax and Tamina are arguably the most dominant team in the entire women's division. The two defeated Alexa Bliss and Mickie James to qualify for this match-up when Nia Jax hit both Alexa Bliss and Mickie James with a double Samoan Drop.
They also won the triple threat match to ensure that Sasha Banks and Bayley have to enter the match first. WWE has been booking them pretty strongly, as they have already defeated the Boss and Hug Connection, the Riott Squad, and Mickie James & Alexa Bliss.
WWE has always seen Nia Jax as one of their top superstars, and therefore it will be no surprise if Nia Jax and Tamina win the Women's Tag Team Championships. If Sasha Banks and Bayley were not in this match, they would definitely be winning this match.
#1 The Boss and Hug Connection
The Boss and Hug Connection are top competitors in all of WWE. The two defeated Alicia Fox and Nikki Cross to qualify for the Elimination Chamber match. It has been part of the team's storyline for almost a year.
The tension between the 2 superstars was continuously teased. Sasha Banks eliminated Bayley from the 2018 Women's Royal Rumble and turned on Bayley in the first-ever women's Elimination Chamber match.
The two had several matches with each other and Bayley even snapped and attacked Sasha Banks after they lost a match to the Riott Squad. The two would eventually become a tag team after Sasha Banks admitted that she loves Bayley. The Boss and Hug Connection has been a tag team ever since then.
WWE has set up an underdog story for them with Sasha Banks' injury as well as Banks and Bayley having to enter the match first. Therefore, the underdogs will have their day, and become Women's Tag Team Champions.
