#1 Shane O'Mac vs AJ Styles (WrestleMania 33)
Shane McMahon is not a full-time wrestler, but he can certainly hold his own in the ring against even the best in the world. That was what happened at WrestleMania 33. When it was rumoured that AJ Styles might face his Blue brand boss at WrestleMania, fans groaned in frustration.
It seemed like a demotion for Styles, after an entertaining title reign. While this was no WWE Championship match, it was still a big deal. Just remember, any match involving the owner's son is a big deal. These two entered 'Mania with hardly much buzz, leaving the door open and the opportunity there for the show to be stolen.
AJ Styles vs Shane McMahon opened the main card of WrestleMania and both of them wrestled an absolute blinder under the cloudy skies of Orlando. Shane matched AJ almost move-for-move in this match, with some slick counters from both performers.
A Phenomenal Forearm was countered into a Triangle Choke, which was then countered into a Styles Clash. It was just beautiful to watch. Shane crashed through the announce table again, from the top rope, before another slick counter of AJ’s forearm into a DDT. A failed Shooting Star Press later, Shane lost the match. But what a match it was, with these two completely steeling the show.
Hopefully, Shane vs Miz is more like this, and less like the WrestleMania 32 match.
