Goldberg and The Fiend fought at Super ShowDown 2020 for the Universal title. The Fiend was undefeated before the match, and Goldberg putting him over in the bout was expected. But Goldberg defeated The Fiend in 2 minutes 56 seconds.
Goldberg won the Universal Championship for the second time in his career. Fans were enraged by this WWE booking as The Fiend was buried in the match.
