John Cena's WWE United States Championship reign in 2015 is often remembered fondly by members of the WWE Universe.

The title run featured several open challenges on RAW and SmackDown, allowing less established WWE Superstars the opportunity to step inside the ring with John Cena.

After WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins shockingly broke John Cena's nose on an episode of Monday Night RAW, a Title vs. Title match was announced as a featured match at that year's SummerSlam event.

During the closing stages of the match, John Cena seemingly had the match won, but the referee was knocked down. This allowed SummerSlam host Jon Stewart to shockingly attack Cena with a steel chair.

Seth Rollins followed this with a pedigree to retain his WWE World Heavyweight Championship and capture the United States Championship in the process.

Arguably the most devastating defeat of John Cena's career came at the hands of Brock Lesnar in the main event of SummerSlam in 2014.

Fresh off the heels of breaking The Undertaker's legendary undefeated streak at WrestleMania XXX, Brock Lesnar was announced as the number one contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

After a brief initial flurry by Cena, Brock Lesnar decimated the leader of the Cenation with a multitude of German suplexes, belly-to-belly suplexes and vertical suplexes.

Brock Lesnar finally finished Cena off with an F5 to capture the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. The match is considered by many to be the most one-sided SummerSlam main event in WWE history.
