Balor became the first Universal Champion in 2016

Finn Balor has been with WWE for five years now, and despite a lengthy career in other companies, is perhaps best known worldwide for his accolades inside the Sports Entertainment juggernaut. The longest reigning NXT Champion in history, Balor ironically holds the record for the shortest reign as Universal Champion, becoming the very first champion at SummerSlam 2016, but being forced to forfeit the title a day later.

Despite two reigns as Intercontinental Champion this year, Balor is a Superstar who WWE hasn’t quite been able to pull the trigger on, but, even with that being the case, his talent speaks for itself. The Irishman has the kind of talent that stares you right in the face, and yet, despite being the first Universal Champion, he doesn’t have the feel of a guy that WWE wants to push.

Then of course there is the Demon King, Balor's other side, who has shown just how unique and entertaining the Extraordinary Man can be outside of his usual look. Though he may be on hiatus after his SummerSlam loss to The Fiend, expect Balor to be back with a vengeance when he returns.
