#2 AJ Styles gets the typical Bullet Club farewell: NJPW: New Years Dash, 2016
NJPW’s New Years Dash events always tend to bring a lot of excitement and suspense and two years ago at the Korakuen Hall, the entire world witnessed the gruesome, yet emotional farewell of two-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles, who bid goodbye to New Japan Pro Wrestling in some fashion.
With Styles’ departure from NJPW on one hand, we witnessed the initial rise of another superstar in Kenny Omega, who eventually took over the leadership reign in The Bullet Club after kicking out ‘The Phenomenal One’ from the faction.

In Styles’ final match in NJPW, he teamed up with fellow gaijin competitor Kenny Omega in what was an absolute dream pair-up which went head-to-head against CHAOS representatives Shinsuke Nakamura and YOSHI-HASHI.
It was Omega who eventually picked up a huge win for The Bullet Club when he pinned then-IWGP Intercontinental Champion Nakamura for the victory, however, with the group’s leader reportedly on his way out of NJPW, there was only one way all this melee could eventually end and that was to boot out the leader himself on his way out, as Omega started proceedings by hitting a One-Winged Angel on Styles during the post-match celebrations.
Omega was shortly afterward joined by fellow stablemates Karl Anderson, Doc Gallows, Cody Hall, and The Young Bucks, who eventually led the charge along with Omega and superkicked Styles out of The Biz Cliz, as the entire group started mauling ‘The Phenomenal One’ in typical Bullet Club beatdown fashion.
To add icing on the cake, Omega then took it to the microphone and cut a brilliant promo stating that “The Bullet Club is For Life… except for AJ Styles” as he and the entire group then shared a Too Sweet along with each other.
However, to add further insult to injury, Omega hit Styles with one last Styles Clash in what turned out to be his final appearance in New Japan Pro Wrestling, as the two-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion bowed out on his way out of Japan and eventually jumped-ship to the WWE.
