Akam and Rezar are two of the most impressive big guys to come along in quite some time. What makes them even more unique, is the fact that they have practically no experience whatsoever, when it comes to professional wrestling. However, it is worth mentioning that both men have extensive combat backgrounds, which has proved to give them an advantage that most newcomers would not have.

During their initial run in NXT, The Authors of Pain appeared to have learned the "WWE way" fairly quickly. With legendary Hall of Fame manager Paul Ellering in their corner, The A.O.P. was able to cruise all the way to the top of the NXT Tag Team Division, where they captured the NXT Tag Team Titles at NXT Takeover: San Antonio.
Once they arrived on the main roster, the expectations were high, especially with Ellerings main event experience. However, Ellering would soon be taken away from the picture and The Authors of Pain were then left without their mentor. Now it appears a new face has taken on that responsibility and his name is Drake Maverick. Maverick began his WWE career as the GM of 205 Live but has now added to his responsibilities as he now serves as the mouthpiece for The Authors of Pain. It's a strange alliance at first glance, but if we give it time, it may just work out perfectly.

Jonathan Carpenter is a pro wrestling journalist at Sportskeeda. After obtaining a degree in political science from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, he started writing WWE articles in 2016. Jonathan believes integrity is vital in journalism and ensures his work is high on accuracy. He conducts in-depth research and verifies information from various sources before curating a feature.
Jonathan has engaged in many meaningful conversations with prominent pro wrestling personalities like Drew McIntyre and DDP. He grew up in Memphis, admiring Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan during WWE’s Golden Era in the ‘80s. He has attended many pro wrestling events and credits The Hulkster for making his childhood memorable.
Jonathan, a big fan of Bray Wyatt, would like to see the latter's brother, Bo Dallas, continue his legacy as Uncle Howdy. If he were to work on the storyline, Jonathan would book the return of Erick Rowan as Howdy’s muscle. He thinks it would be a great way to honor the former Universal Champion.
When not writing pro wrestling features, Jonathan likes to collect sports memorabilia and has amassed a large collection of event-used and autographed relics over the years.
