Money in the Bank has become one of WWE's most anticipated events in the calendar year, especially for its high-stakes and entertaining ladder matches. The premium live event will be held at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, mere hours later.

The Money in the Bank briefcase offers a life-changing opportunity for superstars to solidify themselves as top-tier main eventers in WWE. Over the years, 26 out of 31 Money in the Bank holders have successfully cashed in their contracts to become world champions, marking several monumental moments in WWE history.

Following are five of the best Money in the Bank cash-ins in WWE history.

#5. Damian Priest at WrestleMania XL (April 7, 2024)

The most recent Money in the Bank cash-in happened at WrestleMania XL earlier this year. In the opening match of Night Two, Drew McIntyre defeated Seth Rollins to become the new World Heavyweight Champion.

However, his obsession with CM Punk, who was present on commentary, meant that he did not hold the title for much longer. After Punk launched an attack on The Scottish Warrior and took him out, Damian Priest made his way to the ring to take advantage of the situation.

He successfully cashed in his briefcase on the laid-out McIntyre and delivered a devastating South of Heaven to become the new World Heavyweight Champion. This moment was one of the highlights of WrestleMania XL and only the second time anyone has cashed in at The Grandest Stage of Them All.

#4. Carmella on WWE SmackDown (April 10, 2018)

Carmella won the first-ever Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match and arguably remains the best Ms. Money in the Bank to date, largely due to the number of days she held onto the briefcase before cashing in. She proved to be a fitting holder of the briefcase and excelled as an opportunistic heel.

Carmella held the briefcase for 287 days, the longest tenure anyone has ever held it, before successfully cashing in during an episode of SmackDown following WrestleMania 34. Taking advantage of Charlotte Flair, who had suffered a beatdown from The IIconics minutes earlier, Carmella defeated her to become the new SmackDown Women's Champion.

#3. Dean Ambrose at Money in the Bank 2016 (June 19, 2016)

The 2016 Money in the Bank was a historic night for The Shield, as all three members of the group held the WWE Championship on the same night. In the main event, Roman Reigns defended the title against Seth Rollins, who had just returned from injury.

The Architect emerged victorious over the former Big Dog in a hard-fought match, becoming a two-time World Champion. However, Rollins' championship reign lasted only a few minutes when Dean Ambrose's music hit.

The third member of The Shield had won the Money in the Bank briefcase earlier that night. Ambrose appeared out of nowhere, attacked Rollins, cashed in his contract, and pinned him to become the new WWE Champion. This was one of the most memorable endings to a Money in the Bank event.

#2. Edge at New Year's Revolution 2006 (January 8, 2006)

Edge, now known as Adam Copeland, made history by winning the first-ever Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match at WrestleMania 21. At the time, many underestimated the potential of the briefcase, viewing it simply as a guaranteed title shot. However, Edge demonstrated why he was known as The Ultimate Opportunist.

After John Cena successfully defended his WWE Championship at New Year's Revolution in a grueling Elimination Chamber match against five other competitors, he was left exhausted and vulnerable. Seizing the moment, The Rated-R Superstar cashed in his briefcase. With Cena barely able to stand, Edge delivered a devastating Spear and captured the WWE Championship.

#1. Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 31 (March 29, 2015)

After a successful stint with The Shield, Seth Rollins shocked the WWE Universe in 2014 by betraying his partners, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose, and aligning himself with The Authority. With their support, he won the Money in the Bank briefcase that year.

Seth's rivalry with fellow Authority member, Randy Orton, culminated at WrestleMania 31, where Orton triumphed with one of the best RKOs of his career. However, Rollins had a surprise in store.

In the main event, Brock Lesnar defended his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns. As the match neared its conclusion with both competitors down, Rollins' music hit and The Architect seized the moment. He shockingly cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase, turning the title bout into a Triple Threat Match.

He capitalized on the chaos, pinning Reigns to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. This unforgettable moment, famously dubbed the 'Heist of the Century' remains one of the most shocking endings in the Stamford-based promotion's history.
