Roman ReignsWWE Superstars and Divas have to stand out each and every week when they come out on TV or show up on a WWE PPV. While their in-ring ability, as well as promo skill, is the biggest thing about them that people take to, their in-ring attire is just as important. As we saw on WWE Tough Enough this last season, an in-ring attire can either fit well with a WWE star or end up making them look bad, The major thing that they have to do is have a style that fits them well, but it also has to be liked by WWE fans as well. We decided to rank the top ten WWE stars with the best attire in WWE today. We decided to leave out your average star with the old school trunks and find those with interesting and different looks. Enjoy.
#1 Nikki Bella
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
She is the longest reigning WWE Diva’s Champion ever and she might also have the best attire of any WWE Diva in the company today. Nikki Bella has been at the top of the Diva’s Division since 2014, whether it was by force or by skill.
One thing everyone always notices about her is her very revealing attire. Her shorts fit the moniker of “short” as they show some of her rear end. Meanwhile, Nikki had some “enhancements” added a couple years back and has no problem showing them off in her attire as well.
Many feel that Nikki has a terrific look, which only helps her as she attempts to get over with the WWE Universe.
#2 Dean Ambrose
When The Shield broke up, all three guys had to find an attire that best fit them after they gave up the former swat gear attire they once had. Many felt that Dean Ambrose would go back to the normal trunks that he was known to wear on the Indy scene and when he first arrived with WWE in the developmental territory of the time, FCW.
WWE felt that Ambrose needed to have something different, and Ambrose felt the same. This led to the WWE designers putting together a few ideas. One idea was that he would come out and wrestle in something he might wear on the street. Since Ambrose used to wear a jacket to the ring as a singles worker before, WWE wanted to add this to the attire as well.
During most of the year, Ambrose would come out in a jacket. However, his in-ring attire would strictly be jeans and a tanktop. So far, fans have loved this attire for him as it fits the character so well.
Many think that the type of character Dean is would want to come out and work in the same thing he would go out in. Ambrose commented on the attire when on radio shows, saying that he loves what he wears because he has little packing to do. And if he loses his “gear” he could go to any store in the area and replace it.
#3 Luke Harper
Luke Harper has one of the more “interesting” attires in WWE today. He comes out with a sweat-stained tanktop and jeans. Sometimes he will have a vest on, depending on what mood he happens to be in.
The attire he wears does fit him well. He was asked about the attire before and the memorable stained shirt.
Most felt that he simply had the shirts he wore altered so that they come off as stained. In fact, that is not the case. It is actually Harper’s sweat as he claims he does a very rigorous and rough work-out before matches. So the stain is done with fresh shirts often every week before a match. He really puts in the work.
#4 Bray Wyatt
Bray Wyatt is one of the more interesting cases in WWE.
When he first arrived in the WWE as Husky Harris, everyone saw potential in him but the character he had at the time was just terrible. WWE felt the same, which is why they rebranded him. The late Dusty Rhodes and others along with Bray came up with the character he uses today. The attire had to fit him well and be totally different from the Harris character before.
He comes out in pants and a tanktop, but we can also include the beard as part of his attire as every person in the Wyatt Family has a nice long beard. This fits in well with Wyatt’s image as a dark prophet. Many times in history, leaders of cults were known to have very prominent beards. Many of them were long and at times, the one’s with the longest beards were the one’s with the highest authority.
Everything about Bray’s attire is a call back to his character. That makes his attire heavily important to his image and it is a great looking one too.
#5 John Cena
WWE Superstar and top guy John Cena has been known for his attire over the years, so if anyone was going to make a top attire list, it is him.
The clothes Cena wears are seen in the same light as the rest of what he has done in WWE. WWE is known for having Cena sell merchandise by having numerous Cena shirts over the years. Every year around WrestleMania, a new shirt comes out. Usually around the Fall another comes as well. Not to mention shirts come out whenever WWE is going to sell merch for a major charity.
Over a decade ago, none of this existed, however. WWE wanted to use Cena well, as they felt he had a lot of upside. However, he needed something different for him to stand out. So Cena came up with the rapper gimmick he is well known for now. He would come out in jean shorts and jerseys and rap about his opponents and/or the city he happened to be in at the time.
Eventually, as his character grew, the jerseys were eliminated for regular shirts like everyone else. However, Cena never changed from the shorts he always wore. While they aren’t always the same, they are always shorts. On top of this, Cena wears wristbands and armbands.
It can be said that the bands are one of the most memorable parts of his attire and are often given to kids in the audience at WWE events. Cena’s ability to connect with kids is second to none and his merch sells better than anyone’s in WWE today. The attire he goes with is a major reason for that.
#6 Kevin Owens
When Kevin Owens first came to WWE, people were worried. Would Owens wear the singlet he had worn so often on the Indy scene or would he change things up to better fit the new look he was coming to WWE with?
Not only did Owens lose weight, but he managed to get into crazy good shape and change his attire to fit the kind of character he would become. Owens is said to be a prize-fighter. This means he always fights for the end game to be a title or money, or some sort of prestige.
The fight shorts he wears happens to fit that quite well. On top of this, he wears a sleeveless shirt that happened to be a random thing at the time.
When Owens was doing shoots for his upcoming debut, he took a shirt and added the words FIGHT to it and just wore it as a gear you might work out in. The look was well liked by WWE officials and this ended up being the attire WWE went with. The shirts ended up selling quite well, and this led WWE to debut other merchandise for Owens.
During his rivalry with Cena, Owens had 3 different shirt designs on the market.
The attire he has now is much better than what he used to wear and it fits him well. Fans believe that Owens has a lot of upside and if he continues down the path he is on now, he could be a World Champion one day.
#7 Roman Reigns
When the Shield split, both Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins went with new attire and even new music. Roman Reigns decided to keep both, as the music was slightly altered and the ring attire was quite similar to what he used to have before.
He added his symbol eventually to the swat vest he wears now and also wears the infamous cargo/swat pants. The look he has it well liked by WWE fans and fits him quite well.
When in FCW, he wore trunks like most others and just seemed like another big guy out there. WWE didn’t want this for any Shield member when they split, so they decided to keep Roman with the same look due to how over it was with The Shield before.
While Reigns has a long time to go before he can be considered the top guy in WWE, he woud only continue the tradition Cena began of top guys working with new attires that had nothing to do with the old school trunks. The attire fits him well and it is said to be one of the favorites among fans today.
#8 Brock Lesnar
When Brock Lesnar first started with WWE, he wore the old school trunks. However, Lesnar only worked for WWE full-time for two years before the schedule just became too much for him. This is why he works limited dates today.
Lesnar left WWE in 2004 but ended up wrestling a bit in Japan for NJPW from 2005 to 2007. He then tried his hand at the world of Mixed Martial Arts. He went to the UFC where everyone wears the sponsored shorts that boxers wore. However, unlike with boxers, far more sponsors were added to the shorts. The fighters were similar to NASCAR vehicles with their attire. Brock did well there and even won the UFC Heavyweight Championship.
Due to how well he liked the shorts in UFC when Lesnar came back to WWE he ended up wearing the shorts. Fans loved this idea and the attire has since been seen as one of the better one’s in WWE today.
#9 Stardust
When Cody Rhodes decided to go into a character similar to Goldust, fans thought it was interesting but also alarming. WWE could not let Cody do the things hie brother did in the 90’s, so how was he going to work?
WWE ended up having him go into a dark, crazy world where he would come off similar to a comic book villain. This was smart to do in today’s world where comics are huge. They even had him work a program with “Arrow” star and huge WWE fan, Stephen Amell. It is said that they will work together again one day as WWE loved working with him.
Stardust’s attire is a big deal. Cody is invested heavily in it and wears it to interviews(even radio one’s) and to any WWE event outside of the ring. The face paint is a star that fits the name and the attire is similar to Goldust’s. The cool thing is that Stardust changes his colors off and on, where you rarely get over what he wears. He might go with blue, red, purple, green, gold....you never know.
It makes whatever he does fun to see. Originally, what he wore made him stand out. Then he character did it for him. Now both mesh together and the two work well with each other. Stardust obviously had to rank high on the list.
#10 Seth Rollins
The Shield split and Seth Rollins had to stand out. He aligned himself with The Authority and obviously had to make sure the world took notice. This led him to weare pants with an interesting design to them that could be changed in color at any point.
You may have noticed that for major matches, he wears White and Gold attire. It is said that Rollins’ gear is similar to Cena’s where he comes off as a Power Ranger due to the colors he uses.
While Rollins normally sticks to black as a call back to his Indy character, Tyler Black, he does go with something different from time to time. Today, his attire fits him so well as he makes him come off as the heel he truly is.
Before in The Shield, he never went shirtless. None of them did. Today, Rollins is the only one of the three who works shirtless in matches. While Ambrose might have his removed during matches, it does not start that way.
Rollins did this to show off his abs to come off more vain to fans. So everything The Shield did, he had to do the opposite except for the black the trio wore. He still does wear this.
