Speaking on the latest episode of his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross gave details surrounding WWE’s decision to fire Stacy “The Kat” Carter in 2001.
Ross explained that, according to the reason he was given, Carter had challenged the creativity and decision-making of some of the company’s producers and writers, prompting Vince McMahon to fire her.
“It was just that Vince came out of the blue, said, ‘You know, I’m getting too many complaints about Stacy and I’m not gonna tolerate it. And I want you to let her go today.’ Boom, it was that quick.” [H/T 411mania]
The WWE Hall of Famer added that he felt bad about McMahon’s decision and he did not agree with it, especially as Carter was married to his broadcast colleague, Jerry “The King” Lawler, at the time.
