As we had discussed earlier, WWE has a clause mentioned in any superstar’s contract which enables them to extend their time period for a year or so if the concerned wrestler remains out of action due to injury or any other reasons for that matter.
That is the reason why WWE extended Rey Mysterio’s contract for another year to compensate for all the times he missed out.
But with regards to Punk, it is believed that WWE won’t be forcing an extension. A renewal doesn’t seem to be best for business for both the parties right now.
Meanwhile, Punk is set to host the AP music awards for AXS TV after his contract expires. The Cult of Personality owns the rights to his ring name and it should be noted that he is back to using his ring name after using his real name Phil Brooks on Talking Dead few months back.
