As reported by F4wOnline, highly-respected professional wrestler Gran Apache has passed away. The legendary AAA (Asistencia Asesoria y Administracion) competitor was 58-years old.
In case you didn’t know...
Gran Apache aka El Apache (real name- Mario Balbuena) was born on April 16th, 1959 in Mexico City, Mexico and made his professional wrestling debut on August 8th, 1975.
He was the father of popular Mexican Luchadoras Mary Apache (Mariella Balbuena Torres) and Faby Apache (Fabiola Balbuena Torres).
The heart of the matter:
Gran Apache aka Mario Balbuena passed away this Sunday morning. As of the time of this writing details regarding the cause of his death are yet to be revealed.
The legendary AAA wrestler’s last TV appearance came in December of last year, during his family’s feud with OGT, with the idea being that the Apaches were reunited for the first time in many years by the new Rudo group.

His work in AAA and EMLL (Empresa Mexicana de Lucha Libre) is legendary, so much so that he and his family are guaranteed to have jobs in AAA as long as they want them. He was a respected trainer and has worked with many, mostly every AAAtalent
Mario Balbuena’s daughters Faby and Mary are excellent pro-wrestlers themselves and well-known Mexican Luchadoras. Mario was just 58-years young, and it’s really sad to see him leave us so soon.
