Rey Mysterio is a Mexican-American star wrestler performing on WWE RAW as of November 2024. Quite possibly one of the best cruiserweights in wrestling history, Mysterio is known by his monikers "El Super Duper Niño", "The Ultimate Underdog", etc. The WWE Hall of Famer has secured his place into the HOF of AAA and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

The greatest luchador of all time started his profession when he was 14 years of age with AAA before contending in advancements like the World Wrestling Association, World Championship Wrestling, and the World Wrestling Council. The 49-year-old acquired various titles in those advancements. Since joining WWE in 2002, the Royal Rumble winner of 2006 has clinched three world titles, as well as Intercontinental, US, Cruiserweight, and Tag Team titles. Mysterio is WWE's 21st Grand Slam and Triple Crown Champion.

Knee Injury-1997

Rey Mysterio first encountered an injury during his rise in WCW's Cruiserweight division. After capturing his third Cruiserweight Title by beating Juventud Guerrera, he had to vacate the title because of a knee injury. Mysterio made a victorious return six months after the fact and fought for the title with Chris Jericho.

Knee Injury- 2006

Rey Mysterio faced a knee injury in 2006 that sidelined him for more than nine months following an attack by Chavo Guerrero, however, Mysterio continued their feud upon his return and at last recovered his spot in the headliner.

Biceps Injury- 2008

In 2008, Rey Mysterio fought Edge for the World Heavyweight Title despite sustaining an arm injury during their fight. After losing to Edge at No Way Out, he took a leave from WWE and went through three surgeries to address the damage.

Undefined Injury- 2011

Rey Mysterio won the WWE Title during a time of transition in WWE's main event scene but lost it to John Cena in 2011. Following an injury sustained in the match, he took time off and later returned.

Concussion- 2012

During his WWE tenure, Rey Mysterio had a rivalry with The Miz over the Intercontinental Title, consistently falling short in their matches. After suffering a concussion at SummerSlam 2012, Mysterio took time off to recover.

Knee Injury- 2013

By 2013, Rey Mysterio's prominence in WWE had reduced, and his Royal Rumble appearance was overlooked during a roster filled up with rising stars. Struggling with creative direction and sidelined by a third knee injury, Mysterio used the time off to recover and reflect on his future in the company.

Wrist Injury- 2015

After returning from a knee injury, Rey Mysterio faced a wrist injury in a match with Wade Barrett. This break prompted his decision to leave WWE following 13 years, allowing him to restore his career with appearances in Lucha Underground and NJPW.

Biceps Injury- 2018

During his time away from WWE, Rey Mysterio continued to face injuries, including a biceps injury that required surgery and forced him to pull out from a scheduled match with Jushin "Thunder" Liger. He returned to WWE later that year.

Shoulder Injury- 2019

Rey Mysterio came out on top for the US Title during his WWE return but was struck by another injury soon after. After defeating Samoa Joe at Money in the Bank, Mysterio vacated the title because of a shoulder injury, however, he returned a month later.

Triceps Injury- 2020

Rey Mysterio encountered a career resurgence beginning in 2020 when he teamed up with his son, Dominik. However, shortly before their success, Mysterio experienced a rear arm muscle injury at Payback against Seth Rollins and Murphy. However, he soon returned to make history as the first father-son duo to win the WWE Tag Team Championship.

Eye Injury- 2020

In May 2020, Rey Mysterio sustained an eye injury when Seth Rollins forced his face into the steel ring steps. WWE.com recorded Mysterio's injury status as critical, as doctors couldn't completely evaluate the damage to his retina because of swelling, and he was at risk of infection.

Leg Injury- 2022

In 2022, Mysterio was left injured after a match against the giant Gunther for the Intercontinental Title on SmackDown.

Knee Injury- 2023

Rey Mysterio has been absent from WWE since November 2023 because of a torn meniscus in his right knee. After undergoing surgery to fix the injury, Mysterio shared an update on his recovery, based on Wrestling Inc.
