Rey Mysterio to make the ultimate sacrifice in an attempt to bring Dominik Mysterio back? Exploring the possibility

Rey Mysterio's feud with his son Dominik is seemingly far from over even though father and son have gone in different directions lately. The WWE Hall of Famer has been battling Chad Gable and American Made, while Dirty Dom has to deal with internal issues in The Judgment Day, and more specifically the former Universal Champion Finn Balor.

Still, as it gets closer to WrestleMania 41, and as The Road to WrestleMania officially kicks off on the RAW premiere on Netflix on January 6, their rivalry could be re-ignited and lead to a re-match at The Grandest Stage of Them All.

This would be the second time that father and son would fight at 'Mania, but this time, the outcome might be different. More specifically, Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio could collide at WrestleMania 41, but this time a stipulation could be added to settle the rivalry.

More specifically, Rey Mysterio's career could be on the line, and given that Dirty Dom is winless at 'Mania, down 0-3, his father could hand him his first win at WrestleMania in an effort to save his career.

That way, Dominik Mysterio would be able to move on eventually and even possibly turn face, starting a feud with Finn Balor RAW or move to fresh feuds on SmackDown, while Rey Mysterio would bring the curtains down on a legendary WWE career.

Dominik Mysterio reveals that WWE wanted him to stay away from his family in clash with Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania 39

It was more than 18 months ago when Dominik Mysterio and Rey Mysterio collided at WrestleMania 39, with Rey claiming the victory in a chaotic match.

Dirty Dom had already turned heel by that time, and revealed during an interview with No-Contest Wrestling that WWE wanted him to stay away from his family, namely his mother and sister, who were sitting ringside.

"At WrestleMania 39, I was pulled aside by, I won’t specify who, and they said, ‘Don’t do anything to your family up front. If there is something there, don’t touch it. Stay away.’ I was like, ‘Alright.’ I asked them, ‘How serious are we about me staying away? My mother did try and slap me a couple of times.’ I pushed the buttons a little bit," Dirty Dom said. With Dominik Mysterio having done a great job as a heel, another match at 'Mania against his father, and with Rey's career on the line, would certainly bring him face-to-face with his family again.
