There have been rumors that Rey Mysterio might take a brief hiatus from WWE soon. The LWO member has been actively performing on the red brand for quite some time and WWE might give him some time off as RAW moves to Netflix.
And how could the hiatus be planned? Rey Mysterio could be seriously injured by Chad Gable on RAW soon and he might be written off TV for a few weeks. Gable recently cost Mysterio his Tornado Tag Team match against The Creed Brothers (Brutus Creed, Julius Creed) on the November 25 edition of WWE RAW.
What might happen is that Rey Mysterio and Chad Gable have a one-on-one match on the red brand either this or next week. The 38-year-old superstar can then seriously injure Mysterio by targeting his ankle, thus writing off the WWE Hall of Famer for some time.
Moreover, Mysterio could even be seen on SmackDown rather than RAW as the transfer window process has kicked off and there would be trading of some superstars from brands, which might include Rey Mysterio. Mysterio's move to SmackDown is possible because Chad Gable recently teased his move to the blue brand.

Last week, Gable also showed up on SmackDown and confronted Cody Rhodes saying that he was there to have a word with General Manager Nick Aldis for a possible move to the blue brand.
During the reshuffle, American Made and LWO might also be moved to the blue brand, and Rey and Gable might have their final confrontation on SmackDown ahead of WrestleMania 41.
At WrestleMania, Mysterio might challenge Gable for a major match like a No Disqualification match and grab a victory against him at the grand event.
WrestleMania 41 might also be Rey Mysterio's last big event in WWE
The 49-year-old Hall of Famer might sign off after WrestleMania 41. He has competed in the past two WrestleMania shows and there is a possibility that the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion might hang up his boots next year.
At WrestleMania 39, Mysterio squared off against his son Dominik in a singles match while at WrestleMania 40 this year, the Master of the 619 teamed up with Andrade to take on Santos Escobar and Dominik Mysterio in a tag team match.
While speaking about his potential retirement on Busted Open Radio at Fanatics Fest NYC in August, Mysterio noted that he was looking for a decent send-off where he can finally thank his fans. He also talked about his desire for a farewell tour before finally hanging up his boots in WWE. It remains to be seen how WWE will book Mysterio's farewell after a glorious career in the Stamford-based promotion.
