Dominik Mysterio shocked fans at WWE SummerSlam 2024 when he betrayed Rhea Ripley, siding with Liv Morgan. However, it seems like the seeds of his betrayal were planted long ago.

Rhea Ripley was sidelined with an injury in April 2024 courtesy of Liv Morgan. During The Eradicator's absence, Morgan claimed the Women's World Championship and began flirting with Dom, who refused to give in. Rhea returned in July and seemingly reunited with Mysterio. But, at SummerSlam, he helped Morgan retain the championship and to add salt to the wound, kissed her in front of Ripley.

For this list, we will look at the three reasons why Dominik Mysterio may have betrayed Rhea Ripley for Liv Morgan.

#3. Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio didn't have the best history

The way Rhea and Dominik's story started is different from Dom and Liv's. As many may recall, Ripley and Dom were initially rivals as The Judgment Day previously feuded with The Mysterios. Ripley would embarrass him weekly, either physically or mentally, before Dom betrayed his father and joined The Eradicator. On the other hand, Morgan has done nothing but spoil and pamper Dominik to get close to him.

Since Dominik could never use force against a woman, he may have chosen a different approach. Instead of exacting his revenge physically, he plots his revenge by playing with Rhea's emotions as a way to get back at her for her actions in 2022.

#2. Liv Morgan treated Dominik Mysterio the way he wanted to be treated

During Rhea's absence, Liv would pamper Dominik by giving him food, treating The Judgment Day with gifts, and assisting the former North American Champion in defeating his father Rey Mysterio. While all of this was going on, Ripley seemingly remained silent.

Instead of Rhea reminding Dom that he was hers and he belonged to her, Morgan sought to elevate the young Mysterio, often calling him "Daddy Dom." She respected him like a man, something that Ripley hadn't provided him the past few years.

#1. Dominik Mysterio learned a thing or two from The Judgment Day

The Judgment Day is one of the most cunning groups in the Stamford-based promotion. The group members are already talented as individual stars and have won several championships by themselves, but together they have shown they are more unstoppable. However, they have their own ways of operating and Dominik may have learned all he cares to learn from the former World Champions.

It's possible that The Judgment Day taught Dominik how to betray them in the first place. It was Rhea Ripley who encouraged him to betray Rey Mysterio to begin his journey with the faction. The Judgment Day may have unknowingly influenced Dom to betray people close to him for better leverage, which in this case the leverage is Liv Morgan.
