Major WWE news broke yesterday. CMLL star Stephanie Vaquer revealed she was leaving the Mexican wrestling company, and rumors began to circulate that she could be joining All Elite Wrestling or World Wrestling Entertainment, as both reportedly had interest.
From there, reports broke that she had signed with World Wrestling Entertainment and that the sports entertainment juggernaut would likely confirm the news in the coming days. Ultimately, though, it didn't take nearly as long.
Shawn Michaels posted an image of Stephanie on social media and noted that he would see her in Orlando. This, of course, is the home of the Performance Center, where Vaquer will be reporting, as all new signees generally do regardless of which brand they end up on.
With her signing now confirmed, fans are naturally discussing what she could do in the biggest wrestling company in the world. Given the stacked women's divisions each brand has, there are plenty of options. This article will look at four possible feuds for the latest signee.
Below are four must-have WWE feuds for Stephanie Vaquer.
#4. Stephanie could feud with Roxanne Perez over the NXT Women's Title
Roxanne Perez is an incredibly talented young star currently on the NXT brand. Prior to signing with WWE, Roxanne trained with Booker T's Reality of Wrestling and found success in Ring of Honor. She has since become a breakout star on the white and gold brand.
The Prodigy is the reigning WWE NXT Women's Champion. She recently put the prized belt on the line against Lola Vice at NXT Heatwave and ultimately stood tall, thus meaning she is looking for a new challenger.
While many signs point to Thea Hail being the one to step up to Perez next, it could end up being Stephanie. The two athletes would put on a clinic in the ring, but whether Perez can handle Vaquer remains to be seen.
#3. She could feud with IYO SKY
IYO SKY is one of the most impressive high-flyers in the game. She is called The Genius of the Sky for a reason, and it comes down to her excellent aerial expertise and precision. This has led her to great success, having held the WWE Women's Championship and tag team gold on the main roster.
The Genius of the Sky is in a bit of a funk right now. After losing the WWE Women's Championship to Bayley, SKY has been unable to win both the Queen of the Ring Tournament and the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
Despite that, IYO is confident and focused. As a result, Stephanie Vaquer could show up and test herself against one of the best female wrestlers in modern wrestling. Would SKY soundly defeat the talented Chilean, or could Stephanie use IYO as a stepping stone to quickly reach the top?
#2. Stephanie Vaquer could challenge Bayley for the WWE Women's Championship
Bayley is a veteran of the pro wrestling game and one of the most accomplished female athletes of all time. She is a former Women's Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank winner. Beyond that, Bayley has held numerous World Titles, Tag Team Titles, and even the NXT Women's Championship.
The Role Model is the reigning WWE Women's Champion, having won the title from IYO SKY at WrestleMania XL Sunday. She will be putting the title on the line against Nia Jax at SummerSlam.
Supposing that Bayley can get past the powerful Jax, Stephanie Vaquer could debut as her next opponent. The two stars would undoubtedly put on a classic together, although The Role Model would likely stand tall.
#1. Rhea Ripley is the top dog
Rhea Ripley is a massive star in women's wrestling. She is a former Women's World Champion who held the gold for over a year and was undoubtedly the most dominant female competitor in WWE during those 12+ months. She was also always one of the most popular, despite being a heel.
The former Women's World Champion was out of action in WWE for several months due to an injury. She made a surprise return at the end of Monday Night RAW and is seemingly back and ready to once again rule the red brand.
While it isn't clear if Vaquer will stick to NXT, go to SmackDown, or appear on RAW, she could have an epic feud with Rhea Ripley. The Eradicator is probably the biggest female star in the world, and just being in the same ring as Rhea would greatly elevate Stephanie's stock in the company and pro wrestling as a whole.
