6 – Kurt Angle – $20 million
The Olympic gold medalist, who currently works for TNA might look like a dark horse in the list which contains the stars who take heavy paychecks from the WWE, but he is one of those wrestlers who is still in the wanted list of Vince McMahon.
At his current age, Kurt could still make the youngster run for their money with his technical skills and experience.
5 – Triple H – $25 million
The on screen COO of the company, Triple H is well on his way to be the owner of the whole thing, but as things stands now he is only on 5th in the list.
The cerebral assassin has held the world championship for a whopping 13 times and still looks like he have one or two epic matches to contribute. His recently was promoted as the head of creative and looks poised to change the landscape of the WWE.
4- Big Show – $30 million
Big Show
Arguably the biggest surprise in the list, Big Show is one of those wrestlers who had a roller coaster career in the WWE.
The Giant boasts a wealth of experience in various promotions including WCW, ECW and the WWE but never raised up to the hype that superstars like Triple H and Shawn Michaels could produce. But that does not reflect his bank balance as he outclasses many of the big names.
3 - John Cena – $35 million
John Cena
The leader of Cenation recently revealed that his character generates $100 million annually for the company so there won’t be many eyebrows raised after seeing him in the top three.
He is one of those superstars that have the ability to flood the fans with a plethora of emotions. Though he is criticized for the push he gets and his in-ring abilities, Cena can safely be regarded as the best commodity at the disposal of WWE at the moment.
2 – Steve Austin – $45 million
Wrestler turned film star Steve Austin was known for his rebellious ways during his time with the WWE. His feud with Vince McMahon was the main highlight of the Attitude Era and Austin still is one of the most recognizable figures in the wrestling business.
If it wasn’t for his neck injury, Austin could have been still in the WWE, smashing beer cans and delivering stunners. Though he’s not doing that now, he still makes it to the second position in the list.
1- The Rock – $70 million
Another wrestler turned actor, The Rock enjoyed more success on the silver screen than Austin. From the Scorpion King to the Fast and Furious series, Rock has won many plaudits for his acting skills. He was one of the major characters instrumental in moulding the company into the current product.
He also found time to wrestle John Cena twice recently and the money he makes off his appearances in the movies and the WWE simply makes him the richest superstar by a great margin.
