ROH have announced the main event for their All Star Extravaganza 8 which is going be held in Lowell, Massachusetts and will be aired on PPV. Adam Cole will defend the ROH World Championship against Michael Elgin who had previously ended Cole’s first World Championship run. All Star Extravaganza will kick off with the tournament which will see the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship.
In last year’s All-Star Extravaganza 7, the #1 contender spot for the ROH World Title was decided with a four-way matchup with AJ Styles, Adam Cole, Michael Elgin and Roderick Strong. Near the end of the match, Styles hit the Bloody Sunday on Cole, then performed the Clash before he rolled Cole over and pinned him before the pin could be broken up, securing the win for himself.
More recently at Death Before Dishonor, Jay Lethal was defeated by Adam Cole and went on to become the third Ring of Honor star to win the ROH World Championship for the second time in their careers. In September’s All Star Extravaganza 8 Michael Elgin looks to be the fourth man to win the title twice and hence the match is bound to be an interesting one since both stars have gained significant experience being in the international pro wrestling circuit.
