What's the story?
Jimmy Jacobs had a pretty good job as a writer for WWE until he took a picture with The Bullet Club while they were next door to his workplace doing their Raw Invasion.
The Bullet Club's stunt is rumoured to have really upset Vince McMahon and Jacobs' Instagram post featuring a selfie with his buddies ended up costing him his job. But at ROH's Global Wars it turned out Jimmy Jacobs got another shot at a selfie.
In case you didn't know...
There aren't a lot of things that tick Vince McMahon off more than messing with his money. When The Bullet Club got someone to say they didn't pay for their tickets to Raw and the building was far from sold out it seemed like a low blow to McMahon.
WWE soon sent The Young Bucks a cease and desist order concerning their too sweet hand gesture. This is why the Bullet Club was forced to come up with a new signature hand sign.
The heart of the matter
After the end of the ROH Global Wars show in Chicago, the Bullet Club were in the ring and said they wanted to take a selfie. The only problem was none of them had a phone. But it turned out they had a friend at ringside who had a phone on him and was more than happy to snap a selfie.
Jimmy Jacobs brought out his phone and The Bullet Club gathered around him to snap a group photo. "Sorry, we got your ass fired," Nick Jackson said to Jacobs before they snapped the picture.
What's next?
The announcers seemed surprised to see Jimmy Jacobs at the show and really played it up. Some might draw the conclusion that Jacobs could be going back to ROH, but if anything he might be joining The Bullet Club.
Author's take
This is a classic case of taking lemons and turning them into lemonade. Jacobs' firing was awful and undeserved, but it happened nonetheless because WWE is based in a state with at-will employment laws.
But it's great to see these guys still having as much fun with this situation as possible.
