Roman Reigns and The Usos came together against Solo Sikoa's Bloodline at Crown Jewel and lost the battle. Surprisingly, The Street Champion pinned the OTC after demolishing him with two Samoan Spikes.
During the match, there were various storylines referenced for both the OG and the new Bloodline. The Stamford-based promotion can definitely develop these angles into long-term directions once the feud between the OTC and the self-claimed Tribal Chief is over.
Nevertheless, the references are glimpses of key moments from The Bloodline Saga's history. Here are six such references that were noticed during Crown Jewel 2024.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
#6. Roman Reigns isn't the top singles star in The Bloodline Saga anymore
The fans cheered when Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso entered the arena at Crown Jewel. However, the cheers got louder when Jey Uso entered the ring through the crowd.
When Jey Uso entered the ring, it was a moment of pure aura. Even Roman Reigns felt Main Event Jey's impact on the audience. While the fans are definitely rooting for the OTC to come out of this feud against Solo Sikoa as the victor, they are also rallying behind Reigns' former Right Hand Man to continue his singles journey.
#5. Sami Zayn takes down the OTC to save a friend
At the 2023 Royal Rumble, Sami Zayn betrayed Roman Reigns. Zayn refused to follow instructions and take out Kevin Owens; instead, he hit the former Tribal Chief with a chair shot. He was the first to betray the former Undisputed WWE Champion.
At 2024 Crown Jewel, Sami Zayn appeared to save Jey Uso from The Bloodline's attack following the match. At one point, Solo Sikoa was surrounded by The Usos, Roman Reigns, and Sami.
Both Reigns and Zayn went towards The Street Champion, but he rolled out of the way, leading to the former Intercontinental Champion accidentally taking out Reigns with a vicious Helluva Kick to the face.
#4. The Usos argue over 'Honorary Uce'
After Sami Zayn betrayed Roman Reigns, Jey Uso was the only Bloodline member who still conversed with him. During those conversations, Zayn opened The YEET Master's eyes to the former Bloodline leader's continuous manipulation, and Jimmy Uso would argue over Main Event Jey's attitude towards the Canadian.
At Crown Jewel, Jimmy Uso stirred up an argument with Sami Zayn after the latter accidentally took out the OTC. Jey Uso immediately stepped in between them and moved Zayn away from Jimmy, even though it led to an argument with his brother.
#3. Roman Reigns is unsure about his position in the OG Bloodline
When The Rock returned to WWE earlier this year, he inserted himself into The Bloodline Saga. While he was supposed to take on Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania XL, Cody Rhodes retained his main event position following backlash from fans.
However, The Rock joined the heel faction and seemed to take over as the leader. Even though the former Undisputed WWE Champion continued to be The Tribal Chief, The Final Boss seemed to make all the calls.
Similarly, Crown Jewel left the OTC confused about his seat at the table. Regardless of how the match went down, The Street Champion did pin The Tribal Chief, marking his rise as The Tribal Chief.
#2. Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu's brewing future rivalry
One of the first moments when fans believed The Samoan Werewolf would turn on The Street Champion in the future was when Sikoa stripped Fatu of the Tag Team Championship. The Tribal Chief wanted Fatu to focus on fulfilling the duties of The Enforcer, and he obliged.
Furthermore, two weeks ago, Fatu went against Solo Sikoa's orders on WWE RAW, which cost Jey Uso the Intercontinental Championship. Tonight at Crown Jewel, Sikoa tagged himself multiple times when Jacob Fatu was in the ring.
As the story develops, The Samoan Werewolf can become less tolerant of Sikoa's actions and finally turn on him.
#1. Paul Heyman needs to come back for Roman Reigns
During his championship reign, the OTC had Paul Heyman's support throughout. The Wiseman helped him run the faction and ensured Reigns could focus on the fight rather than politics.
At Crown Jewel 2024, the OTC could have used Paul Heyman's help, as his influence has helped the faction before, and his continuous motivation from ringside has helped Reigns get back on his feet more often than not.
The Hall of Famer was last seen on WWE TV in June on an episode of SmackDown, where The Bloodline attacked him after the veteran refused to acknowledge Solo Sikoa as his Tribal Chief.
