When Roman Reigns returned at SummerSlam 2020, it marked the beginning of a new era. The magnificent reign of The Tribal Chief lasted until WrestleMania XL, and since then he has been absent from WWE TV. Interestingly, Reigns' return in 2024 will mark the beginning of another era of The Bloodline.
It was previously expected that Reigns would return before SummerSlam 2024. However, those plans could have changed recently, as the company is no longer advertising The Tribal Chief for the go-home episode of WWE SmackDown for The Biggest Party of The Summer or any shows before that.
One of the possible reasons behind this recent change could be to preserve the element of surprise or maybe his return plans are delayed due to eight-time WWE Tag Team Champion Jimmy Uso, who is currently out of action.
There are many reasons why the company could delay Roman Reigns' return until Jimmy Uso gets medically cleared.
Roman Reigns needs help to stand up to Solo Sikoa's Bloodline
Jimmy Uso has been written off WWE TV following WrestleMania XL due to an injury. Unless he is cleared to be back in the ring, the company might not move ahead with plans to bring back Roman Reigns.
If The Tribal Chief decides to go against Solo Sikoa's Bloodline when he returns, the former Undisputed Champion will need help. Since Jimmy Uso was assaulted out of the faction, Reigns can convince Jimmy to join him against the new Bloodline.
In fact, it was the Head of the Table who allowed the former Tag Team Champion back into the Samoan faction after Uso betrayed him at the 2023 Night of Champions.
Allows the reunion of the original Bloodline members
If Jimmy Uso returns with Roman Reigns, they can convince Jey Uso to join them as well. Even though Jey can't be convinced easily, Reigns and Jimmy can pull it off.
Jey Uso has revealed that he doesn't mind a reunion but as the good guys and not a family that fights all the time. Chances are Reigns and Jimmy Uso will make their return as babyfaces which can convince Jey to join them against the heels of The Bloodline.
Solo Sikoa's new Bloodline needs to be established further
The Enforcer has just started to gain traction as a despised heel, especially after Paul Heyman officially announced him as the Head of the Table in Reigns' absence. Now, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa need time to establish themselves as ruthless savages who answer everything with violence.
Hence, it makes sense to delay Reigns' return until Jimmy Uso is cleared so the babyfaces can come back against the loathed heels of WWE SmackDown. The pop will be huge if the original Bloodline comes face-to-face with Solo Sikoa's Bloodline with the Tongans.
